Quiet Exhaust

What is the quietest exhaust, next to stock, that is aftermarket? I want to get a little more noise and performance, but don't want to be annoying.

Also, someone stole my exhaust, so I don't have my stock or the replacement that someone stole(I was trading my stock for a 2 brothers)
My budget is also going to be around 350.

Any suggestions would be great!

I saw 2 different threads about Leo Vince exhausts, and one said they were relatively quiet. Is that true?

Thanks!

Also, its a 2010 250R

Stock + snorkel removal...I don't think any of them will be quiet like you are wanting.

Your other option is to empty out a stock can, and replace the internals with a perforated tube and packing, basically making your own slip-on. The only difference between that method and buying a slip-on is you can use a core that is the same diameter as the stock exhaust outlet, and put a lot of volume of packing in there. In other words, it will sound good, without being nearly as loud as a Two Brothers can.

An OEM muffler can be purchased cheap, and gutting/redoing a stock can will run you around $50, maybe $80 if you have a shop do it for you.

I'm not too worried about cost, but I would like the look of an aftermarket pipe as well. I had thought about gutting it, when I did have the stock(before i traded it) and decided I didn't want to do that. A coworker has a 250 with a shortened repacked stock muffler and I don't care for the sound.

I will look into those.

Note, I would like to get something aftermarket, just on the quieter scale. I thought about going crazy and getting a Jardine GP1, but I don't think I could live with it too long...lol

I've also thought about doing a full custom exhaust where i find a car muffler, mount it in front of the engine(the inlet would match up with the headers) and having the exhaust drop out similar to the Jardine. With a traditional muffler, I should get back pressure and quiet it down, but if I mounted it in front of the engine, it would be hidden with the cowling.
Any constructive criticism with that?

leovince evo exhausts with the db killer and baffle are pretty close to as quiet as stock. Sounds better too IMHO.

The LV One EvoII. IMHO looks better than the area ps but it's more expensive.

Remind him that it's actually only $525 new, not $700 like his ebay listing suggests. You can re-jet for $20 by buying jets and washers on your own.

See if you can talk him down to $300 or so.

Ok, just sent him an email through ebay.

I really don't understand the whole jetting process. Can you give me a down and dirty way to go about it? I always see kits for like 80-90+$ and I don't understand posts like your(20$ to rejet) I've seen posts like yours many times before, just never asked. I have no idea where to start with, when it comes to jets.

It depends on how you look at it, the area P can be more expensive if I just got the slip on LVL1. Thats what I have been debating about, slip on or full exhaust.

Ok, so I just rechecked, it was a leo vince for system for 400. So I guess I sent an email to both...

Buy main jets individually, and use washers to adjust the needle height.
