Not the best way to meet a new neighbor.
A new neighbor just moved in a few days ago and I noticed he had an R6. I've been meaning to go over and say hi, but haven't gotten around to it yet. Well, yesterday morning we left about the same time, he was one car in front of me, and was just getting on to one of those half circle on-ramps. All of a sudden he slides out and the car behind just missed him.
It was dark so I pulled over and positioned my bikes lights to shine on him so people could see him. I introduced myself as his neighbor and helped him pick his bike up. Not the best way to meet. One thing I couldn't figure out was why he crashed. The ground was dry, not cold enough for ice (it was about 48 degrees), he didn't have a steep lean angle, and wasn't going that fast. All I could figure was his tires were cold. Since we live very close to the freeway, his tires probably weren't gripping well yet. Good thing to remember this time of year.

He may have momentarily gassed it a bit causing the rear tire to step out and break away. That happened to me on a rainy day, luckily it regained traction quickly. R6 can break lose very very easily.

He was wearing tennies, but it didn't look like he was limping. At least he had a jacket and gloves on. He seemed kind of shook up too. What bothers me is that the car behind him just kept going, didn't even check on him. Well, I suppose he probably saw me stopping, but still...

Besides being embarrassed that's a great way to meet. Glad you were there to spotlight him so cagers saw him and didn't crash into him while he was down.
