Axio Swift Backpack Hard Pack
Just got it in the mail today!! Very excited! I'm a backpack dude, I hate tank bags and hate the look of tail bags so a backpack is a must for me. Ive had many backpacks all my life, usually pretty expensive ones. This is the Axio swift hard shell pack, normally $200, picked her up brand new on ebay for $90 shipped
I'll write a review when I start to use the bag a couple times. And I'll take better pictures Sorry for the crappy cellphone pics, and our office makes everything dark as hell

Hope to not test it ever but I would say yes. The hard plastic isnt that hard, and would probably crush if there was a lot of force applied to it. When I went down last week I was glad I had my other back pack on because it ended up taking a lot of the impact

thanks for the reply...a spine injury is my biggest fear with any backpack, which is why i try to avoid wearing one if possible. Your bag looks hot tho, looking forward to your ride impressions.

Looks sweet. I love how in your last picture the lights in your office sparkle against the backpack. Makes it look extra futuristic. Now if only you had a 360 image.
Just curious, what was your criteria for picking this particular sweet backpack as opposed to some of the other backpacks? I'm a tailbag guy myself but that thing is hard to resist. |

I'll take more pictures of it tonight. And one of my friends (phre3k) has the same pack and I fell in love with it. It holds so much stuff!!! He had 4qt of oil, chain lube, two sprockets, some wd40, a pair of shorts and other stuff and it all fit fine! And the thing is sexy as hell, I might wrap it in CF

Depends what's in it though...landing on a backpack carrying a pillow might be fun, but landing on a 17inch laptop could ruin your day. |

Dude that carpet is playing some mind tricks with my eyes but otherwise, that backpack looks awesome. CF would totally amp it up even cooler. How much does it weight?

from the looks of it, the internal storage pocketing might limit what bulky crap you can jam in there
and the shoulder straps have less padding i think i would prefer yours over mine though this is the only pic i have of my pack |

Nice looking backpack. I have been looking at the Axio backpacks for a while now, there doesn't seem to be too many reviews out there. Hope you can put up an update in a couple of months your thoughts on the bag.

Can you take a pic of the inside of yours? I agree some of the pockets get in the way, but I still manage to stick a ton of stuff in it. Right now theres a grinder, a dremel, oil filter, magnet tool thing, rim tape kit, full screwdriver set thing, a HID ballast, GoPro and all its accessories, chain scrubber, and a allen set, and I'll put a bunch of sockets and wrenches in it later
I'm curious to see how your layout cuz I might cut out some of the retarded padding Oh and this is what it look like on me, sorry for the crappy Myspace pic lol

Oh little update, When I crashed last week I didnt hit my back so the backpack is fine, but I honestly cant even remember it being on, I can barely feel it while i ride, even when its full of 30lbs of ****
I hit GMR with my backpack fully loaded and had no problem in a full lean with my knee out

I slide around like a ninja turtle in my no-drag. Seems to work fine.
It's bolted around my upper and lower waist though. I think backpacks kinda help in a crash.

Heh... idiotic posed studio shot. No way that guy is looking at anything but his gauges. Makes the point, though.
Out here in the real world where people don't actually ride like that, the aero effects are probably minimal. So the shape is more of a vanity thing than a practical feature. I have one of these and use it occasionally. I originally bought it for a tour, but wound up not needing a backpack so it got left home. Very nice piece, very comfortable, a bit on the heavy side. |

Thank you for that lovely nugget. Totally worth reviving an over year-old thread.
Also, this backpack crashes well.

Since we're on the topic after reviving this thread, the No Drag series from Ogio is also a very good backpack to invest in if you do a lot of commuting that would require a bag. I personally have the Mach 5 version and love it, makes campus days so much easier.
Here is a link to all three bags with details. Ogio Street Bike Backpacks |

Welp, it looks like this now [IMG][/IMG] And I still love it! Like max said, it crashes extremely well, and seriously has saved my ass (no joke) I came off the bike at about 60, and slid on the backpack the entire way, in jeans with the backpack on, and it tore the jeans a little but most of the damage went to the backpack, which did VERY well. I dont use any other backpack when I ride, I have tried, but this one is just too comfortable. I can actually tell a aerodynamic difference when I wear it and when I dont, meaning I try and wear it all the time! Ive speed tested my bike with and without the backpack, and my top speed is still the same with both (157 ) but it is honestly more comfortable with the backpack on
