NC Bike. This is the first year STT has scheduled this track I think.

That's not that far from here... 'bout an hour. I've got to look into this one. You planning to come up this way or just staying in Atlanta?

Not sure. NCBike is 8 hours from me. I will probably stay closer to home, CMP, Barber, Little Tally, Jennings, Road Atlanta. Plenty of twisty goodness around my neck of the woods!

Understand. I see they also have a track in SC... which is actually the one I thought of first. It's closer. Maybe I'll get done to Road Atlanta or someplace your way. Thanks for the link on Sportbike Track Time...

No problem, Chris! I would HIGHLY recommend STT as a track group! It's run extremely well, is safe, and efficient. And the people kick ass!

^^Those are riding jeans. NOT! I wish...I do need some. It's hard to get them here. No one sells them and if I have the shipped and the don't fit I have to pay to mail them back to get a different size. I'll figure it out. Maybe I'll get the shorts to go under them...or overpants. That might be the best option.

I'd say at least start with some knee guards since those tend to have a wider range of fitment.

Shop at Revzilla, there aren't any restocking fee's, so long as you keep the tags on and don't ride in them and they will exchange it for free and ship for free if it doesn't fit.

Well return shipping is nearly always out of your own pocket, but once the item gets back to them they'll cover the cost of reshipping and what not. Can be worth the cost if it's something you really want/need and can't get otherwise.

^^They won't refund the $...oh well. I just try to find something here and try it on or try to find the size I need. Then order online if need be.

Sounds like it wasn't in the condition they needed it to be in then. Anyways, good luck.

That's actually in Revzilla's (and most companies') terms: "You are still responsible for return shipping on your original order back to us for exchange."

It's only free in terms of them shipping to you.

Another option is you could try contacting them before ordering to help you out with sizing.

Ah! Yeah, I was speaking more specifically about the jacket itself, sorry. It sucks shopping online sometimes (especially when it comes to clothing and or gear), luckily I've been pretty good on the measurements and what I've received. *knocks on wood* All I have here is Cyclegear and well, I'm not really a fan of their customer service, their Bilt gear, etc.

I just bought protective overpants. The women's ones were strangely more expensive for the same thing so I just got mens instead. Most sites have size guides - you could just figure out the right size for yourself using that and err on the side of the larger option.

These are the ones I went for. I just pull them over the top of my normal clothes.

Actually it's because I live in Hawaii and it's too expensive for them to do it both ways. If you live on the mainland they will do the first return for free. My jacket was in perfect condition. That had nothing to do with it. Here's the email I got from them so we can squash this...

Hi Katherine,

Thanks for reaching out about your order. We won't be able to cover the shipping when you send the jacket back to us, but we will cover the shipping cost of the replacement jacket to you. Just let us know what the correct size would be to send.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

It creeped above freezing today so piled on the gear and tested out my new helmet. Found a fun little loop where the two paved roads are flat and curvy and a dirt road joins the two.

I think I'll have to go that route too. I have an odd body shape. Very pear like. So, the measurements are usually WAY off. I bought a mens jacket and if I went by their guide I'd need to buy an XL...I fit a M. Good thing I went and tried them on.

I still suggest strap-on leg armor even with overpants. That way, the armor will definitely stay with your leg instead of moving around and possibly not even being in the right spot depending on the pants. Gives you a little less to worry about in terms of fitment.

I like the idea of that, but I'm trying to minimize how much time I spend gearing up before a ride. Already I have: trousers, gloves, boots, back protector, buff, jacket, helmet and thermal base layer. Really I should also be wearing ear plugs and sun glasses as well. Maybe I should save up for one of these machines:

Link to original page on YouTube.
just a helmet needed! It probably steers like a tank though :/

Me too. Getting really tired of sub-20 temps. If it was snowing or stormy might be tolerable, but all I see are clear dry roads and beautiful blue skies.

I did go riding when it was about 22, oh good Lord never again!!

So yesterday campus was closed 'til 11a for freezing rain... and today it was 70degs.

This is me hugging my bike after taking her for a very much needed first ride since mid December. At least global climate change is good for something!
