I picked one up for shits and giggles

I'm also an idiot for misreading the torque specs when spec'n clearances on the crank bearings. Snapped a bolt and stretched another. IN/LB NOT FT/LB.

Changed my decel fuel cutoff from 2.2k to 2k.
Plugged in to battery tender.
Checked tire pressure.

Might go out for a ride later if it warms up a bit.

Today I think I rode more in a day than I ever have. Couldn't be arsed to work on my bike because I was too busy riding it Oh and I now have a nice Xena xx-10 alarm. Also confirmed that it works when I was too slow at disengaging it.

You should go hand out with the BARF mellow ride tomorrow, they'll be right in your backyard this week.

Went out for a ride. Had fun. No problems at all

Helped a guy push his 900lb. Harley to the gas station. Damn that thing was heavy.

its been a fun day.

This is the most work I've done on it since I've had her.
-swapped tires to get off of the plug in my rear tire. Went to the battlax s020s 120/70/17 front and a 150/60/17 in the rear. No problems on the install and no clearance issues.
-went back to my stock windscreen since my double bubble cracked after a big ass rock hit it.
-installed a k&n air filter
-oil change
-cleaned the motor and all the dirt from inside the fairings when I swapped the air filter and took those prudish clothes off of her to practice to ready for the exhaust install.
-took a quick ride with a buddy of mine through the local canyon (reche canyon for those in or around the riverside/moreno valley area) had to test out the new tires. It was different but not bad.

Washed mine only to find a small crack at the bottom opening of the fairing, a few rock chips as well. Must have been from the Sunday Texas hill country ride. Covered 200 miles and 5 hours of riding.

Service (oil, oil filter, coolant)

Tail-tidy, protons, red small bulb in the front, tail indicators changed, seat cowl.. still to be received as the one received was damaged from e-bay and had to re-send it back >_<

Also, new Scorpion Carbon Silencer (Slip-on)
had the Dan-Moto before and this sounds wicked, of course without the dB killer :P tehehe

When I'll have some free time I'll shoot some pics of my babies

Oh no. Definitly not. I am building a 250 track/race bike. I am just trying to find a new home for all the stuff I don't need. The 250 I picked up is a little rough, but solid and I'm sure I could help some people out who are looking for parts.

I apparently made some people mad with my posts about parting it out. Parting bikes isn't my job. I am not looking to make a killing pawning my junk off on you guys. I am just looking to make a little money to upgrade my suspension, get some solid tires and offset the cost of my bike.

I created my account yesterday, but I have been reading the posts on here all winter while I was kicking around the idea for this build. Cheers.

Damn I just got in my new rear tire, new countershaft sprocket and orange pro-grip rim tape but my rear tire isn't down to the cords yet so I feel wasteful if I pull it off knowing its got another couple hundred miles left in it

I'm still waiting on @lolibater for the rear sprocket and the new chain will be here early next week so I think ill wait and do it all at once so that'll give me a few more days to so if I can finish off my current tire.

But damn I want to mount that new rear now

Took the new 250 for a spin. Couldn't figure out why I was getting crappy compression and ****** throttle response so I threw the fresh plugs in and took it up to gear and engine brake the crap out of it. I figured perhaps I had stuck rings. The stutter in throttle response went away and the blue smoke out of the tail pipe seems gone too. I also sprayed down the front and rear tires with carb cleaner to get rid of all the oil. Not sure if the original owner drove through oil or sprayed tire shine all over the tread. I'll be taking it on the road tomorrow. Hoping the motogods give me a trouble free ride to school and back.

I see, and again: Welcome! I think they interpreted it to mean that you were flipping the purchase made purely for a profit because "parting out" typically does mean breaking it down completely to sell it for parts. I'm sure that saying race-prep part out would have been much better received. GLWS!

The race-prep part out is well underway, my friend. I am certainly looking forward to becoming a part of this community. It looks to be chock-full or interesting and passionate individuals.

I have my GSXR 1k for sale locally. Completely lost interest in it since I started my 250 build and pre-build. Little bike > Liter bike.

Traded sprockets with Jason, and gave the bike a nice long cleaning. I had no idea that some of the parts on this bike were actually silver, not black lol.

Rode for the first time in a while today. It was over 70* out!

I know right! In Feb still! It was the first time it's been warm enough for leathers in a while. I saw so many bikers out today.

Jason gave me the suggestion of changing my decel fuel cutoff to 15,000 RPM, which would make it never activate, hopefully making it impossible for it to oscillate at idle.
