Change "KAWASAKI" tank decal color?
So I realize that the "KAWASAKI" tank decal is under the clear coat, and essentially impossible to remove without pretty much sanding off. But has anyone tried to cover it up with an OEM decal of a different color one? I was thinking about this because I really dislike the white "KAWASAKI" & "Ninja" decals. I'm gonna remove the "Ninja" ones and replace with black ones. I was thinking I could buy the black tank emblem for an '09 Sunbeam Red (which has black decals) part #56054-0057 and with some patience and precision, line it up perfectly with the white one and overlay it on top of the white. Basically just cover up the white with a black one.

...or what I used before Kevin came along http://www.tapeworks.com/KAWASAKI%20...2logosets.html Kevin is MUCH less expensive and that's where I got my "250R" decals from. Everyone who has used him has posted great results. The Tapeworks kit is really nice too but expensive.

another vote for Kevin. I changed my tank decal color from black to white.
he sells individual letter overlays that are fractionally larger than the original lettering. I thought this would lead to problems with the vinyl overlays coming off, but I've had no problems since doing so. Admittedly, I'm very mindful when handling the tank lettering while working on the bike or washing it, but they have aged well and have had zero problems to date. http://www.ninjette.org/forums/showp...&postcount=121 |

+1 for Kevin. He will not disappoint you. You should also post in the thread, as I think he sometimes doesn't monitor that work email account.

I saw something quite unusual as a cover up. 3M makes this tape that's used on the leading edge of helicopter blades...it's ultra thin, ultr durable, ultra flat black stuff that when applied looks like paint. My friend found some on the job and put it on his sliver FJa to cover up the brand. Of course...it has very little practical use on our bikes but...i think I'm gonna try covering up my KAWI....on my tank. I hear that it can be removed without residue. If it looks right...I'll post a pic.

Thanks for the info on Kevin. I ordered the tank decals, fairing decals and ZX-2R decals and they were great quality, fast shipping, and all at a GREAT price. I have since sold my Metallic Island Blue Ninja for $700 more then I paid. Some guy was super determined to buy it from me because he loved blue. I sold it to him for $3600 and bought a brand new 2010 Passion Red Ninja for $4000 OTD at Grapevine Kawasaki here in the DFW area. Emailed Kevin again and re-ordered some more ZX-2R decals for the tail fairings.
