Bye Ninjette Hello CBR F3
I just sold my ninjette! After swearing up and down that I wouldn't do it, I jumped into a project bike. I took the little 250 for my last ride with her and I hope I don't regret selling here is my CBR600 I can't wait to take her out and see what I got myself into
The goal

My friend has one exactly like it with a racing tail/solo seat, I covet it so much it should be a sin.

I love those. They have such comfy rider positioning. It's the perfect balance between "I can ride it all day" and "I feel like superman in the twisties".
I loved the time I got to spend on this one. She's a bit rough cosmetically, but she runs smoooooth EDIT: here's more info about those fairings on the "Repsol" bike, fyi. http://cbrforum.com/forum/cbr-600f3-...-inside-71945/ |

Looks like you have a nice place to work on the bike and wait out winter. I'm working on my bike in the living room of my condo! Looks like you might be buried under 2 feet of snow in your location this weekend...

The final goal looks awesome. I've always liked the Repsol look. Keep us posted on the project.

Update!!
After a few months of the white winter devil and lots of snags, I finally took her for the first real ride last night. Wow. Gobs of addicting power and a very comfortable position. The added weight only showed up during a u turn and during low speed turns like into a driveway.
During a closer inspection, the front fairing stay and gauges both needed to be replaced. I also had to source mirrors, signals front and back, a front wheel and tire, a battery and miscellaneous bolts that were missing from the seat and exhaust hanger and piece the exhaust together (I didn't want a high mount setup). All that's left now is to scrape together the money for the plastics and bend the right lower frame a little to insert an engine mount bolt and spacer. I am very happy with my decision so far to "upgrade". The ninjette taught me many lessons and I preach about all the benefits of learning on one to everyone interested in riding.

Awesome! I still love F3s. Almost bought one to replace my F4i, it ended up being a major POS and I ended up with a 919. Either way, an F2 or F3 is on my short list of wanted project bikes.

Excellent bike, I love those old F2/F3's. Those bikes can easily go 100k. You made the right choice!
