I have class today, but there is no way in hell I'm leaving my house...I already said to myself if there's a storm they can fire me at work 'cause I ain't going... Has any of you guys been caught in a tropical storm? how does it feel like with the ninjette being so light?

I road track in what was left of the last hurricane of last year. Let's just say it was an experience. The track record for crashes in a single day was broken that day. lol Some riders even crashed twice. Near the end of the day, you wasn't part of the club, UNLESS you crashed.
Ahhhhh.... fond memories.

It's not a tropical storm, but I 'had' to ride home from work when a tornado hit my town. It was about 20miles away from where I was riding and the winds were intense. I wouldn't do it again, but it wouldn't say it was the most dangerous conditions I've ridden in (snow storm..).
It doesn't matter how light/heavy the bike is, I wouldn't have felt any more safe on a 1,000lbs Harley. If you are stuck in high wind situations, keep your arms hands loose and try not to fight the bike much. Physics want to keep your bike up right when in motion. I think it would take a fairly beastly wind blast to really throw your bike off.
