Rain Issue
So I rode to work yesterday as I usually do, but I neglected to check the weather. As I walked out the door it started to poor. The bike started up fine, but as I made it to the main road, it sputtered out and died. I pulled over and started it and realized it would only run for about 5 to 6 seconds before it sputtered out again and almost died. I assumed this was water in the bowls and planned on draining them this morning. Before I did this I decided to do a test ride around my neighborhood and it drove fine. Is there something I am overlooking as the source of the problem?

cracked spark plug wires
Easy to check, spray in there with a garden hose set to 'fine mist'.

Are there any modifications done to the bike?

Have you water-proofed your electrical connections with dielectric grease?

Thats a good idea to test with a hose. It didnt feel like an electrical issue. I was only about to accelerate for about 5 seconds then it would break up and drop below idle. I then coasted until it returned to idle, which meant I had another 5 seconds burst available. I had to "recharge" like that all the way home.
