New Rider from NYC & Brooklyn Area
Hello fellow Riders,
I've been reading up on some posts from the forums and decided to join in the fun. I recently became a proud owner of a Black 2008 250R Beauty with 10k miles. I've been riding it for about two weeks now and put about 1000+miles on it. Ever since I got it registered, I take it everywhere. I work in midtown as an "Unlicensed" Architect and I want to commute everyday to work, was wondering if anyone have any tips with parking / security. So far I've been parking it in the garage of my office building but the peace of mind is getting a bit expensive. Was wondering if anyone is in a similar situation that knows few tricks here and there. Here's a little snapshot of my bike the previous owners have done some work on it. The growler Exhaust, Licence plate fender eliminator, and the whole bike being all Blacked out, I love it!!!! I know the background looks like a ghetto but its actually my friends Staten Island neighborhood that is still looking devastated by hurricane sandy. Here's a better setting but the same friend can never take a good photo. Last futzed with by Trubin; July 13th, 2013 at 05:09 AM. Reason: re-size pics |

Hey there! As I look around, there are indeed quite a few of us in the city area. I just recently moved the bike here to harlem. Once I get a few things figured out, I'd be down to go for some rides.

lots of people park on the sidewalk, counting you pull your plates. i occasionally do but you run the risk of it getting towed. easier if you place it behind the new citi-bike racks as they can't get a tow truck in there but YMMV. I bicycle to work anyway.

@pericous mentioned if you put a bike cover on your bike the meter maids tend not to want to take the cover off in case they drop the bike.
If they tow you i think it's around 400 bucks to get your bike out of impound. |
