F***ing Cyclists getting in the way

Currently cutting back on fun rides on the 250 to avoid any unwanted attention so I've been taking out the bicycle here and there instead. cant decide which is more dangerous, doing tripple the speed limit in full leathers on the 250 or double the speed limit wearing 1/2 a mm of lycra and foam ice chest on my head. It funny how one is so hated by the public and the other is frowned upon at best

Bicycles rock!! I'm jealous of the speed. We don't have hills like that. Ours are all 1/2 mile or less, and mostly straight.

Next time, get one of the track photographers to snap some pics of you going around those hairpins. I want to see that angle!

Nice vid!

And I'd take full leathers over tissue paper any day. Though I do like the "foam ice chest" description.

I meant in NE Ohio. The hills are all in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park.

BUT! there's still hope. Hit up Route 800 down south on in the Ohio River Valley. That is one beautiful road, and it's a little bit technical.

Hmmmmm I'm in Columbus and my girlfriend is at school in Pittsburgh. I may have to make a pitstop the next time I go visit her.

Oh, it's not really worth the stop. haha. good roads are about 3 miles long, and there's like 3 of them. If you want to make a pit-stop, find a friend at OU in Athens, OH and go ride the roads between Athens and Marietta. I want to ride some of those. 800 was fun, but those look better.

or do what Brett and I did. head to WV. All the roads are curvy down there.

That's badass! It made me think of how funny it would be (bragging rights!) to get a pulled over for a speeding ticket on a bicycle!

been there. done that.

Got a warning to keep my speed in check since I had no license or registration on my person at the time.

There's a pretty good hill down 303 into this little town called Peninsula. Speed limit goes from 55 to 45 to 25 within about 1.5 miles. Needless to say, 45-50 is easily attainable on a road bike, and if the light in town at the bottom of the hill is green, you can shoot through town at 45 and jump the railroad track on the other side. It's a hoot when the timing works out. One day, I shot by right as an officer was about to turn left (station is on the corner) out of the station parking lot. Flipped on the lights and told me to pull over. I did. He was laughing, but told me to slow down so I didn't get hit at the light.

I may be the only rider to successfully outrun the cops descending that road. It's only happened once and it was easier then I thought.

my older brother did that, he was tripling the speed limit (63 in a 20) on his bicycle (in a state park downhill) and got pulled over for it and was actually detained at the station until my dad picked him up with his drivers license

he was given a speeding ticket for it, and it was bullshit

Have you ever passed a motorcycle on a downhill like that? : )

Those 15 mph turns were nuts. Hopefully your rims won't taco.

So how long have you been riding a racing bicycle?

I have had a few motos wave me by mostly Harley's but there were a few sportier bikes as well.

I'm running 66mm deep aero wheels with short spokes so the wheels are rock solid but that also means they are very unforgiving. I believe we are every faster when we take the full suspension bike with slicks down the mt. but I haven't done that in awhile.

I raced my road bicycle only once and was totally turned off by the other riders over serious and stuck up attitude so I never went back. I do race 24hr solo mtb races but I totally kill everyone on the descents but that's ok since passing people is kinda fun to.

If you did know I did used to race motos on the road at a rather high level for awhile so I'm rather good on two wheel when it comes to asphalt although I was I could say the same for dirt. This last weekend me and @CycleCam303 raced flattrack with the rednecks and I highsided myself 5 times over two days trying to get the dot rear tire to hook up in the turns. Video of the weekends event coming soon
