08 Ninja won't start after Gauge Cluster re-fit
So I was taking apart the fairings on my ninja and decided to take it a step further and take the gauge cluster out (lights too). I was daydreaming of turning my ninja into a streetfighter but decided against it after I took it all apart.
I put the cluster, lights and fairings back on and went to start my ninja but it wouldn't start, even with the choke all the way on. I was riding it the day before so I'm sure its not the battery, and the gas tank is full. So, I'm thinking it might be something electrical , due to the fact I was struggling to put the damn gauge cluster back in its place ( I might have snagged a wire ?) . Is there anything in the gauge cluster that can cause a starter problem if you mess up the wiring behind it ? Here is a video of what it sounds like, the first two starts are without the choke , and the second two start are with the choke all the way on;

The speedo is 100% mechanical. Should have no effect on whether the bike starts or not. ??????????

Hmmmm... BUT, The next day, I was ready to go out for a ride and the bike completely died on me... at first it started trying to cycle but eventually it just stopped igniting (?), and from then on it just started making a loud buzzing noise that seemed to come from the battery area (fuse I'm guessing). So, I assumed the battery is dying on me, and it did. Couldn't go out for a ride that day. THE NEXT DAY after THAT, I went to start the bike and it worked..... lol what in the world is going on with this bike of mine ? I thought the battery was done for, but I guess not ? I don't know what is happening with it. Battery resurrected itself ? (lol is that possible ?) |

I'd check all of the main battery and starter connections.
Also check the battery voltage sitting, while cranking, and running to confirm it's ok so it doesn't leave you stranded. |

Batteries do not charge that well from riding like cars do, get yourself a 23 dollar battery tender to save you hours of being standed
If you were working on it for a while turning it on and off etc it probably drained pretty bad http://www.amazon.com/Battery-Tender...battery+tender
