I don't do this for a living... its my very first cafe racer on my very first bike I've ever owned. I think people a capable of doing great things if they set their minds to it. I took the time to do a little research and just went for it. The result was good. I'm happy with it. Still need the exhaust :/ I have been slacking really bad on this project.

OK guys the first Friday of next month for sure. I need to register And insure it this month. Chp pulled over my buddy and gave him 450 dollars worth of fix it tickets for license plate, reflectors , blinkers size and tail light. I need to make some adjustments before I take out the cafe.

I rode by twice doing errands for the wife, unfortunately it just wasn't in the cards last night. I will definitely be there next month, my apologies for not getting in touch with you. Things have been crazy trying to get my wife's car back on the road (blew a coolant line coming out of the back of the motor into the heater core.) What a pain in the rear that thing was to fix!!!

Ivanrules, looks like you've removed most of the tabs on your frame. Did you just use an angle grinder to do this. What have you done to finish the frame to stop rust? Anything? Just wondering as I'm looking at cutting mine and don't want to pull the whole thing apart and have to powdercoat.

I got to see this bike in person today after picking up the plastics from Ivan. Holy cow!!! Ivan you are incredible man!!! The bike is beautiful!!! Can't wait for you to get it on the road and we can go ride. The plastics are in great shape, going to work them over with a buffer and some compound then polish them up. Great job on the bike, truly an amazing piece of work!

Oh yes. I used a cut off wheel to remove them. Sanded to smooth out and then primed black. You can't even tell its primed because the frame is flat black already.

Hey I'll put some pics up soon of what I've been doing. Bike has been at the mechanics. The positive neutral finder had a blow out and I had to get it fixed. Couldn't get the bike out of first or neutral. Been waiting for over a week for them to get some a gasket kit to put the motor back together. Not happy.

Sooooooo sexy! I am highly impressed with how your cafe is turning out from the 250. Almost makes me want to cafe one now. Epic skills, you should be proud!

One suggestion for the overflow bottle - take a strip of 1/8" or 1/4" masking tape and run it down one side of the bottle, then shoot it flat black with a spray paint made for plastic (Fusion or similar). That way you can see the level in the bottle but it should almost disappear visually. |

It ended costing about 160 to have it done. No one else would touch it. I had to make the custom molded plate first before anyone actually quoted me a price. It think it was the best way to go because it is removable so it worked out in the end.

Looks awesome
Can you post up some more details or pictures of the tail fiberglass process I'm looking to make a custom fiberglass tail for the 250 track bike this winter and would really appreciate a little insight

I know it's on here somewhere because I've found it before, but can't seem to right now. Is your speedo plug n play? What kind is it? and where can I get this one, or a digital one? That isn't Koso. Koso is quite expensive.

Plug and play speedo
Hey guys, I got a 'plug and play' speedo from Dennis Kirk. It's a drag specialties 2240:60 ratio speedo. I got the one with the lights for $99.95, but I don't use them. It's part number 2210-0210 (manufacturer) or part number 40-9111 (Dennis Kirk)
Mine was really easy to install. Just mounted it under the front of the triple tree where a wire guide use to be. Hope this helps. |
