Then you should be fine using a ruler. +- 2mm is easily done with a ruler. Just find the official float height. It should be in one of the wiki's on faq.ninja250.org

No I mean that's a range from 15-19. That's what 17 + or - 2 means. That's all dependent on bike. If you can snap the throttle wide open at 2000 rpm and not surge or bog, don't mess with the float height

update discovered something really really normal and kind of dumb on my end, i think the reason why the bike was running like that is due to the LACK OF FUEL IN MY TANK ,yep, i think it was low and i never noticed nor did i switch to the reserve tank...... but imma still switching to the 110 jet and i'll let you guy know how she runs

Don't second guess yourself though. Your bike is gonna be running like crap til you get the jetting right.

Hahahaha that's alright. It's a rite of passage. We all forget to switch to the reserve or run out of gas etc at some point. Haha
Glad yo found that. I've got my fingers crossed for you that it works as expected now |

Undo your throttle adjustment changes. There should be slack in the cable so the butterflies are always closed, lock to lock.

When you're idleing high like that reach down and close the butterflies w/ your hand. If the idle goes down your cable is too tight. Test it again by moving the bars all the way left then right (like chone said lock to lock). If your rpms vary the cable is still too tight.

you could let it idle while on the center stand and move the handlebars from side to side to see if the idle change

Ha are you sure that the idle adjustment is at the lowest setting not the highest? And is the choke on or off? Having the choke on makes it idle real high

Cold starts are always different. You're supposed to adjust the idle speed when the engine is hot, for just that reason.
So, take it for a nice ride, then worry about the idle speed. Depending on outside temp/humidity/choke/the alignment of the planets/your bike's attitude, starts can be really simple or really picky and terrible. |
