Best commuting tire
Hey guys i know this gets asked a lot but I haven't been able to get a solid answer. I just started riding and got this 2010 ninja 250r, it has the stock tires but they have to be replaced. What is the best commuting tire I can get for it. I've heard a lot of good things about the bridgestone BT45 but most of the review I read say they only last around 5k miles. Im looking for something that will grip well in rain and twisties but will last more than 10k miles. Any suggestions?

I'm at around 9k miles on my BT-45s. granted the front started cupping and the rear is rather squared off from too many highway miles, but they still have a ways to go until the wear bars. How long tires last also depends on riding style.

I got 2 new IRCs...cheap, and seem to work well but I wouldnt know any better since this is my first bike. The two bike shops close by seem to carry them on hand so they're easy to find. The other brands recommended require ordering.
For solely commuting? I think they work perfectly fine. I've already put 200+ miles on them. |

I've a set of BT45s at 12,000 miles so far, there's still a couple of mm thread left, they're still grippy in the wet and they've not had an easy 12,000 miles either.

Bridgestone BT-45s seem to be the best commuting tire that you can still have reasonable fun on at the moment. The new michelin radials may a really good choice though since they're the best tires you can get for wet riding. |

I do 40km highway and 11km twisties to work every day, so I'd say these are perfect if you're looking for a great commuter tire but also want a bit of fun. |

+1 for BT45's, dunno about commuting as such but I run'em on everything I own and I really like them.

Another one for BT45. I got about 11k miles on my last rear. Mostly highway miles, so it was squared off considerably.
