How much would you pay for it?

It's missing the belly pan; I bought it the way it is currently.
List of new parts that I'll be putting on before selling:
http://amzn.com/w/70XJX181B8VC
rear tire, brake pads (f & r), sprockets & chain, and I'm also part of the apex ss brake lines group buy, so those will go on here as well. I've already changed the oil & air filters (and the fuel filter), and I'll flush the coolant sometime in the next week or so.
It doesn't leak and it runs strong.

Sure, I'll trailer it to you if you want. Where I am, it costs about 1900 to rent a trailer though, so that'll just have to go on top of your price

But seriously, what's a decent price for a pregen in good condition but pretty high miles for its year?

I assume it's running? I have a friend who would give you $800-1,000 for it (including shipping though so you'd get whatever the remaining $ is after shipping it to the east coast)

I'll check up with my friend then, he's looking locally but hasn't found anything yet. After checking up on the process of getting an out of state bike registered and all that I'll let you know what he thinks. He'll probably prefer something in state that he can ride before buying but it's possible he may be interested. The high mileage may be a turn off too since he's switching from driving a car to riding a bike as his main means of transportation.

think the mileage would be enough to scare craigslist people away? I was thinking of posting it for around 1600

I don't think it will scare people away so much as have them try to bargain for a lower price. For my friend though he probably wants a lower mileage bike because he intends to ride it for a while as his main transportation much like I do. A large amount of people who would be looking at that bike on craigslist will be first time riders who aren't looking to invest too heavily into riding yet and intend to sell it after a season or so. These people won't really care about the mileage since they aren't intending to keep the bike forever, they will try to knock the price down though.
1,600 sounds like a fair place to start on CL though, they'll probably bargain it down $2-300 though so keep that in mind.

eh, bought it for $800, putting $300 max in parts. the cash loan that I used to buy my very first bike has $900 left on it. Looking to pay loan and maybe come out a couple hundred ahead, not much more.

Sounds fair enough. Just got a text back from my friend, he's not interested on the count that he wants to test ride the bike in person before buying. Which makes sense. Good luck with the sale though. You can definitely get 900+ for it.

Clean it up real good and get a few pics out in the country with it for your ads. Nice pics will bring them to your door then you can sell them on it. $1600 would be a stretch around here but not knowing what they go for around there, I'd say you'll at least get your money back. Look at the pic in my ad: http://louisville.craigslist.org/mcy/4390041277.html
