Does anybody know what bike this tail fairing is from?
I saw this picture online the other day and I would like to put a tail like this on my bike since it's already chopped. Does anyone know what bike it came from?

Looks like an aftermarket bit.
Doesn't look like a stock tail fairing from any model that I can think about. There are a bunch of bikes to choose from many use an r1 tail

Looks like an aftermarket race tail (single seat) to me too.
Also looks like it's too small to work for the Ninja. |

What do you mean by too small? Aside from the fact that the original frame extends beyond that tail in the picture. Like I said, my frame/seat is already chopped.
I believe that is the same bike as this one here: |

Looks to me like
It looks very much like a fiberglass Kawasaki Z-1 tailpiece replica that was very popular. Originally developed for Pro Stock bikes in the early 80's. In fact they made 3 versions of it. One like the one in the picture (which the "seat" part has been shortened), one with the fender part stretched, and one that was wide, to fit on a bike running a 10" wide slick.

I guess it would "fit" if you chopped the rear frame rails off (like it sounds like you did ), but it looks too small to me.

I love that look. I don't think I've seen a style like this before. I must have it!

Thanks guys
There are plenty of z-1 tails on ebay going for decent prices so I might give that a try. My current tail is one that was made by the previous owner and it's attached in a way that doesnt feel very solid/secure so I've been looking at putting something else on there. Any other suggestions besides that and the R1 tail? |
