Koso radiator hose adapter
So I have had my Koso installed for a few months now and I've noticed that the radiator hose adapter although installed just like the picture here has a tendency to leak? I see residue on the radiator itself and can smell it. Any tips on fixing this? Any type of sealant maybe to put at the edge where the hose ends on the adapter? Going on a long trip next weekend and don't want to have to worry about needing more radiator fluid :P

Tighten the clamps or try wrapping thread tape around adapter

You know, you can probably install that sensor in the stock temp sensor location on the thermostat housing, so you could go back to a stock hose that is less likely to leak.
Here's a pic of the housing. The Koso fitting should have the same threads as the stock one: |

That's kind of a bad and to tight of a spot to have had it installed. Right in front of the thermostat would have been a much better idea with no curves to deal with. Any kind of sealant would be a bad idea and probably most ineffective. Try loosening the clumps adjusting things around a bit(wiggle it all to find a happy spot) then re-tighten it all again. Do be afraid to get you water hose and light spray off the whole area so if you smell a leak you'll know its new fluid.

Thanks for the ideas, yeah Ive been cleaning it off and watching the fluid levels. I'll try readjusting it to see what happens :/ Knew it would be a problem when I installed it because it is a curved area. If the adapter wasnt a straight adapter it would of worked much better but its like its forcing the hose to straighten out making it not a tight fit. |

Problem solved?
Looks like when it was installed the cuts weren't very clean lol. Seems I was in a hurry to install my new toy.. Before and after pics and so far no leaks!
After a little trimming to make it nice and flush :P Pretty Picture (Dont mind the front caliper not exactly bolted on lol, I removed the old bolt as 1 came out while riding (WTF) Ironically after passing inspection here in turkey. So I bought aftermarket ones and some nice loctite tape just waiting for them to come in before I go on my 10 hour trip this weekend! |
