Ways you secure second helmet to bike while riding
Hey guys, so I recently just bought a second helmet for my bike. The girl I am seeing likes to ride. (yes that can be taken as a sexual comment, but I am not going there) haha.
I was wondering how you guys secure your second helmet to the bike when it is not being used? Typically I have seen bungee nets used most frequently, but figured I would still ask. Thanks Last futzed with by kennetht; July 15th, 2014 at 12:45 PM. |

Have her keep the helmet. or maker her come to your place if she wants to ride. or you can just secure it to the bike like you would normally when you go somewhere.

just keep it at home and out riding have her hold onto it.
never leave anything on a bike unless you're ready to part with it.

I like the idea of having her keep it. Then when you go to pick her up, its there and she's ready to go (you/she does have the rest of proper gear, yes?)
I've always been under the impression that carrying a helmet on the bike for an extended time damages the helmet from the vibrations and small bumps that happen during the course of a ride. Just an impression, no facts.

Make her wear the helmet at all times 24/7.
Problem = solved. |

I'm with Teri on this one. My gf rides sometimes with me too, all her gear is with her so she can ride when I go over. Or she brings it with her in a car if she's driving over.

Well, I'm not planning on keeping it on the bike 24/7. I would personally like to hold onto it because sometimes other people want to go for a ride, so if I let her keep it, then I will be back to square one again, helmetless.
I plan on only affixing it to the bike when I know I am going over to her place, and she will want to ride. Other than that, I would like to keep possession of it in case of the event that someone else wants to ride when I am at my place |

I think everyone misunderstood the thread title, I changed it.
The main question of this thread was how do you affix the second helmet to the bike while riding around. Not affixing the second helmet to the bike while the bike is parked. |

If you are just carrying it to whomever is riding with you, then a backpack or bungee net is probably going to be the best option. Maybe loop the chin strap onto the helmet lock and set the helmet on the seat, then bungee it down.

I use the AGV Alliance backpack. Works pretty well, but it's kinda awkward to have something sticking that far out on my back...better than having it hang on the side of my bike though.
