@ally99 Are prices less expensive for groups at a Track event. I don't know how it works.

October would give me time to finish up some work on the bike so I would be interested. I probably wouldn't be able to do the first few days at the beginning and end of October though, as work will be crazy for me around then.

I'm busy the next two weekends, but something around August 2nd or 9th will hopefully pan out. I'll post here at least a few days beforehand.

Not that I know of. Large groups may "rent" certain tracks for a discounted price per person, but to simply go ride, even with a group, seems to be a standard cost as far as I know.
STT (Sportbiketracktime) is a good started organizaion. Jennings has their own track days, but there's not as much coaching as there is with STT.

With the Spring rain stretching into summer, I'm not surprised there haven't been many group rides. Maybe we can all get together on Saturday August 2 for a mountain run and throw around some ideas: Track day, Tech day and such.

I've been making more time to ride- mostly by myself but I need some riding buddies.

I've been meaning to put something together, but inertia and work keep getting in the way. Well, no time like the ~~present~~ future, right?

Lets do a short run up to the mountains next weekend. I know free weekend time is at a premium for everyone, so if we leave a bit early anyone that needs to head back early can be home by lunch, and everyone else can ride around in the mountains all day.

PRELIMINARY Details

Route
To Blood Mountain and back. Something like this (except I'll get lost at least twice).

Date
Saturday August 23. (Next Saturday!)

Time
Meet up at the Starbucks in Cumming at 8AM. It's the one on Buford Road, just off exit 14 on GA 400, next to the Atlanta Bread Company and Home Depot.
(Atlanta Folks: I'll be starting from the Starbucks at the south end of GA 400 at 7AM; you're welcome to meet me there. It's the one near the corner of Piedmont and Sidney Marcus, same parking lot as Home Depot, NOT the one in the Target.)

Today the forecast has Saturday as nice and sunny (maybe too sunny!) up in the mountains, but we'll have to wait a while for the most accurate weather forecasts to come in.

Wow, Jenson Button and Eric Beale, huh? I see myself as more of a Ronald Weasley or an Arnold Matthew Perlstein =P.

Fingers crossed that the weather clears up for Saturday! But I might have to miss it either way -- I've been riding around on a chain with a few seized links for a while (bad! don't be like me!), and today it's feeling a lot worse, so I need to finally get that sorted out before the thing snaps off. I'm just waiting on parts to arrive, and they're trending towards late Friday or early Saturday delivery, so fingers crossed!

There's a charity Poker Ride to benefit Shriners Hospital starting at NE Ga Motorsports on Sept 20. First bike out at 11am. $20 for one hand of poker, $5 for additional hands. Comes with a T-shirt and prizes for winning poker hands. As long as there's not a good chance of rain, I'm going! Anyone else want to come?
