I approve! Good to see you back, Richard.
Anyone have any place that can get aftermarket rims for cheap? Markup is ridiculous for something that's purely cosmetic and I cannot justify it. Haha. |

Your best bet for cheap aftermarket rims are used ones on Craigslist. And you know better than to say wheels are purely cosmetic. Weight and width of rims make a huge difference on how the car drives. I currently have Kosei K1's on my car which are lightweight and sweet looking. Bought them off a friend for cheap. Sadly they are now discontinued. |

I really only want rims for the looks. Might as well just paint them for that. Heck, if weight is the issue, I could make a hub, pop them on the lathe, and take off a pound or so. I've had an eye on CL for a while. Sadly, nothing the right size with the appearance I'd like. |

I just picked up an S Class Diesel Mercedes. It's not new (100,000 miles) but it runs and looks new. Pretty black one.

My Ninjette replaced a Porsche 944. Kind of amazes me how similar the perception is of the two vehicles. Purists say they are overweight and underpowered. Owners say they are massively fun to drive.

I split time between my 09 250 and my 01 Jeep XJ. Depends on the weather and what I've got going on that day.

^^ Cool pics! I've got a soft spot for that body style of Cherokee since my uncle had one when I was little and I thought it was awesome at the time. Your build on that reminds me of blacked out Xterras and FJ Cruisers. I like it.

Thanks man! It's always been my favorite body style of jeep (when built correctly). This was a ground up build/resto. I drove it on a 3000+ mile adventure this summer thru CO & UT. I put a lot of hard trail miles on it and it ran/drove flawlessly on both the trails and the hwy. Hard to believe the Jeep XJ has been discontinued for 14 years now.

I currently drive this. It has an EJ207 (JDMSTi) swap in it. Puts 285WHP down on the stock VF30 and CAs ****** 91 octane. Would be 300 on 93 and ever more on E85.

Sweet scoob. It would indeed do better on some 93 non ethanol. My 205 with pnp vf39 makes right around that with Texas gas. It really enjoys the water injection.

2001 Mustang Cobra convertible. A fire breathing, racetrack handling monster which is almost as fast as this year's 4 cylinder Mustang... :\ (no, really, look it up).

Mustangs handle poorly.
Convertibles handle poorly. Therefore a convertible Mustang handles very poorly.

So I sold the Boss to a buddy of mine at work. I decided I enjoy the bike more for fun and I never go to the track with the cars anymore. Picked up a truck I've been modding and now I can get a couple more bikes later.

I think I've posted this before, but I got some glam pics when I visited the west coast a while back and this thread needs a bump.
My '06 tC. Got her with a little under 78,000 miles almost exactly 2 years ago. Now she has just over 111,000 miles. Pretty great choice of a car for me. She's been cleaned since then. Needs it again, actually. |

Picked up a "barn find (carport)" '92 Astro. Sitting for 8 years after the owner (old lady) passed away, then her husband passed away.
Seen here with two of my four other projects (not picture are my 74 CB550 and 72 International pickup). Got her running in less than two weeks after only changing the fuel tank. Went through the fuel system, and now I'm doing the ignition system. After that, just tires and she'll be good to go. Plan on just being a lightly modified daily driver. 1-2" drop, aftermarket wheels, and maybe some hotrod-style pinstriping after I take care of the paint (typical early 90s GM paint peeling).

Exactly... Although, being an audiophile, it is going to be a heap o' trash with a really crisp sound system worth more than the entire vehicle itself.
The Z on the other hand, the sound system won't be what I am listening to.

It's good to have a winter/work/beat-up-on-it-and-not-care car/truck/SUV. Some day.
For now, I'm still rocking the good old tC. This is with the factory wheels still, and hadn't done the headlights at this point, but hey. Beautiful picture. |

We've got a Honda CR-V (what's with the stupid labels they give cars now? This is clunky, not something you can just pronounce), an electric Chevy Spark (love love love this car!), and a BMW convertible in the garage that needs to find a new home. Three cars, three motorcycles, need the space in the garage!

Toyota was targeting a younger audience with scion, but unfortunately I don't think that they did a good job. Look at the xB for instance, it's an alright car, but nothing about it attracts the average 20 something year old. At least not here in America. I'm sure it was a different story in Japan though (kei-car). The FR-S is a beautiful car, I heard that it's just going to become the Toyota 86 now. Which I'm okay with! Subaru is also credited with the FR-S because they pretty much designed the engine and styling from what I've read.
