OMG!
I hope that the wide-angle on the camera was making it look as if the bike was going faster than it really was. I would not have ridden into smoke. I'd have been terrified that there'd be something in the road right in front of me. Like (for instance), the SUV that was stationary in the nearside lane. |

If it was on a motorcycle, it would've been different since the cop took awhile to get to me and probably walked rather than ran back inside their car but I was in a beater van that stuck out like a sore thumb and probably only ran as fast as a sore thumb could if it grew its own set of legs.

Success with the Serfas TCPG bike pump, found out I was running 24F/27R on the 250R and 23F/36R on the ZX6R and adjusted accordingly.
Only thing I didn't like about the pump was that the pressure gauge wasn't accurate, but I had a standalone digital tire pressure gauge for that. Less than 20 pumps per tire to overshoot the target PSI a little and then let some air out. |

Went on a ride on the 250. Finished installing the All Balls tapered bearing kit in the steering stem along with Driven clip-ons, blue SSR stem nut, and Vesrah brake pads in the front. Sprayed the blue nut with some UV resistant clear paint before putting it on so hopefully it won't fade so quickly.

Picked up the parts from buyer and got most of the bike put together. He didn't supply me the parts I requested so I'll have to call him up and ship it to me. He also gave me his battery but it's dead. I'm going to disassemble it and try and get it charged. My charger doesn't want to charge it so I'm going to trick the charger.

Cleaned and lubed the chain. Annoyingly the front end started chirping (like a metal on metal squeak) whenever I hit bumps and I have no idea what it could be...
Recently got shogun frame sliders installed and I noticed the upper fairing started popping out (the infamous 300 fairing issue). Could be due to improperly seated fairing, woodcraft clip-on handlebars being pinched too tightly or neither... A little frustrating but I guess I just need to eliminate everything one by one. Sigh. |

Nice! What else do you have left to do?
Also, are you planning on getting rearsets - if not, you should definitely consider it. |

I ordered Woodcraft rearsets already, though they're on backorder. I broke one of the OEM rearsets so I needed new stuff anyway. The clip-ons + rearsets will require new brake lines though because the ABS bike is stupid and the brake lines aren't long enough. Will custom order some SS lines soon... The bike will not be rideable without new brake lines. I have a thread for my 300 : http://www.ninjette.org/forums/showthread.php?t=153997 |

Unfortunately my phone died while doing my rearset install so I don't have a good how-to. I can certainly do a step-by-step write up, if needed. Mind you, this would be specific to Vortex rearsets.

47T rear,
no more snail pace (hopefully), only going up to 45T was a mistake in the first place. I blame the Au vs USA having different specs on stock gearing. |

Spent a good few hours cleaning my bike today. I have to ride out to a nearby carpark to do my chain as my drive is made of gravel. I had an oldish guy wonder over to me absolutely fascinated by my cleaning efforts! He said something like "I've never seen anything quite like it! That thing must be very powerful indeed." I'm sure my ninjette would have blushed if it could.
Oh! Don't throw away your old socks! I figured out a really nice technique for cleaning filthy chains. Put a plastic protective glove over your writing hand and then put an old sock over that. You can then WD-40 the chain and massage it using your sock-glove-hand. Works really well! You can stick your fingers and nails in the small gaps in the chain to clean it without worrying about your hands to much. |

Just finished taking my stunt sprocket off and putting my stock one back on. I found out that the wheel bearing spacer in my extra hub is a different size than what's on my bike. also found out that my old chain is streeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeetched. WTF. I do not like PJ1 blue label. Switching back to wax based chain lube.

Winterized it for the first time by myself, really cool to do that myself and learn how to do that. My steps were:
Change the oil, no leaks by the way. Hook battery up to trickle charger. Put Stabil in gas tank and run bike to allow Stabil to get into carbs. I do still need to lube the chain, did forget to do that darn it! |

Washed and waxed, cleaned and lubed chain, installed new front brake line and HH pads, Installed a set of risers and lowered the front.
It STOPS. And the difference in turn-in in unbelievable! And the riding position is a bit better.

Put the front and rear wheels back on after the new tire install. ( pirelli diablo scooter tires)
Inspected and lubed the chain, pumped the brakes just in case I forgot to do that prelim walk around prior to a ride. |
