I'm willing to spend a few $ on pucks to have a feel for it with my knees and bp but power to you. Guess it didn't end the best with the exhaust though.

Yup. You'll get to the point where @cbinker is at. I reached that point the after my first set. Make those knee pucks last, unless you're at Lightning!

In general, once the line/lean is set, a rider can pick up the knee to stop dragging to save the puck. But... there are few corners at a few tracks that I drag throughout. Can you think of any reasons why a rider would do that?

I can only really think of one at this moment, double apex corners where you want to be sure that your lean/speed is the same throughout. Decreasing radius corners maybe, because you're going to increase the lean later on.

I haven't had too much issue making them last so far I should hit up lightning next season at least once. When I do I'll hopefully be riding it on a k3 gsxr600 with all the goodies already on there.

I can't think of too many double apexes that I've encountered either. Turns 5-6 at jennings counts to me as a double apex but not much else.

I lost most of my left knee puck on corner 2 at Little Tally. It's a fish bowl turn and fun as hell to drag that bitch all the way through it.
God I'll miss that feeling. But hey, at least I've experienced it!

I've dragged helmet before...it's overrated

It may be a different experience if you do it intentionally though

So I realized that one thing missing at the track is live music at night, so at a future track day with a big ninjette group we need the following

guitarist (can be me but I'm better at sax and prefer sax anyway)
saxophonist (obvious bias)
bassist (because no one sounds good without someone putting down a good beat)
drummer not happening
etc. basically a track night jam sesh

or in homage to ron heading to the washington state we could do a polka band

I can toast to that

Next time I'll be bringing someone with me to jennings, I didn't like the fact that knowing I'd have to do the drive home by myself was distracting me while I was riding on day 3.

So to continue this bday/Jennings thread a little further.

So my bday is at the end of Jan. The rest of the junkies crew (about 30 of us) will be at Jennings on one of these dates weather depending.

Jan 31-Feb 2nd
2-14,15,16-15

Should be a good bday weekend if we go at the end of Jan.

I don't think I'll be making that trip as I'll be saving for next season and modifying the pregen. I have big plans for next season that potentially involve dropping the $$$ and attending the cali superbike school or the yamaha champions riding school. There's also a gsxr600 somewhere in the works and several track days at shenny(250) and njmp(gixxer) that I'll need $$$$$$$$$ for. I'll definitely be in for a mid-O trip and a jennings trip next year though

what do you mean by the 2-14,15,16-15 line?

also uploaded a vid from day 3, this vid includes the 675 crash as well as some foreshadowing of that crash that also explains exactly how the crash happened.

Link to original page on YouTube.

Just a wild guess but I would figure the "2" would mean Febuary, the "14,15,16" would be the days of the week, and the "15" would be the year (as in 2015). It took a long time to decifer but my decoder ring tells me that's the meaning of this statement.

[QUOTE=Sirref;951000] Smart move to pull in giving you an open track. You could have just passed the slower rider!

On second thought, why not try Barber next time you're this far south?

just a different form of notation than I'm used to for that, partially thanks to the multiple days. I wasn't thinking 2015 so I thought feb 14,15,16 or just 14, 15.

5:37 is the reason I decided it wasn't safe to pass him, he was too unpredictable in the way he was moving around the track, jaques agreed it was only safe to pass in a straight as opposed to the back section. He also caused the crash in the end by swooping into the triumph rider's brake lever while the triumph rider attempted to pass him.

also, aww man a track day on the 14th would be sick, that's my birthday

Because I am going with my local group of riders. Just like last Feb., you remember? You was there. Half the paddock was from Cincinnati.

My family will kill me, but I'm contemplating coming to Florida with you and riding a day. I am struggling with the thought of ending my track adventure like it did. I'd much rather end the hobby with a win...not broken.
