I've already accepted this fate. Some day I will be a bald dude, but today (nor tomorrow) is that day.

I think I got the thinning hairline of my moms side

but I do have most of the characteristics of the hair on my dads side so I think I'm good

I'm actually bald by choice. I don't have the male pattern bald spot, but my hairline is super-high and always has been. So I've never had great hair. Nothing to lose....

Thing is, it makes life a whole lot easier. No haircuts, shampoo, bad hair days, etc. etc. etc. Just shaving every morning in the shower.

or wear a hat, I like hats myself.

I doubt I could go bald, maybe a short buzz cut but I like having hair too much to shave it off daily

my hair comes from my dads side of the family, it's too thick to be from my moms side

though the hairline comes from my moms side

Yep, it was her first track outing yes and she did well. I lost the oil fill cap on the first couple of laps and got black flagged. Most of the oil went in my boot , the rest went on the rear tire for added sliding fun . Somebody was watching over me those few laps. After a bit of safety wire, it was smooth sailing for the rest of the weekend.

I hear ya

I got a few photos from the track photographer, unfortunately day 2 is missing and that's the day where I was properly booking it since I backed off on day 3 to focus on the flow of the track and taking more weight off my wrists.

Day 3 he only really got me in turn 3 since he didn't bother taking photos in the morning

I ride the 250 better that said I know exactly what I need to work on and how to work on it before my next outing in may. Parking lot circles to better adjust to steering should have been one of the first things I did. That and braking exercises but my braking issues are more mental (overbraking) than any lack of physical control over the brakes. I know I got the rear loose a few times on the brakes + downshifting

Yes. Thats me. Im also at 1:48 (T10) and 1:57 (T6-T8). My brother runs Noiseless Productions so I got to be in the video this time around. lol

My personal favorite was this clip he shot at Lightning coming out of the bowl. https://gfycat.com/DopeyDentalBarnowl

I saw him changing positions the lap prior so I actually knew where he was going to be at for the following lap. I actually pitted out after this. Man, lightning is awesome.

Talking

two of my different styles of body positioning.
I don't use the rear brake to "back it in"... I think that's cheating.

Name the track and turn in the second pic.... of my favorite turns at my favorite track.

Seems like my head and upper body are too upright, any tips? I usually keep my bum more scooted back in the seat but i forget. I also lowered the clip ons and slide the bars closer in together after. Maybe higher rearsets too?

inside elbow and inside shoulder. Bring them down. It will get your shoulders angled correctly and bring your head down at the same time.

Make sure your inside elbow is bent at a 36.5 degree angle, as if you are using your pimp hand. It makes everything much more natural.

do a track day

do it, you'll love it and they're not as expensive as they seem if you ride with motorcyclexcitement or team promotion

In other words... relax. Lock onto the bike with your legs and you are free to relax the upper body. It takes a lot of energy to hold your arms, shoulders, head + helmet up that high when you're fighting the forces of cornering and gravity. It actually takes less energy to not fight it and relax and let the bike do more of the hard work.

@aduglas had a nice post around here where he used a few reference points between his physical self and the bike. Maybe he has the link handy.

There's been talk of a track day/weekend that also involves @scorch @M42 and myself as well as a few other potential riders

good excuse to ride shenny & summit main (motoxcitement does back to back deals that have both tracks)

Be warned though, I fully intend to be running summit main at a proper A-group/race pace this season so I may end up getting quick on ya

good excuse to ride shenny & summit main (motoxcitement does back to back deals that have both tracks)

Be warned though, I fully intend to be running summit main at a proper A-group/race pace this season so I may end up getting quick on ya
LOL.

Not sure if you're being sarcastic but you're either overestimating your capabilities or underestimating A/ Race pace at Summit Main (Or I am underestimating you), which is a course you've never been and shouldn't take lightly. That course, in my opinion, is twice as technical as Shenny, once you get up to speed. Ill honestly be surprised if you break into the 1:28 mark this year. 1:28 is mid to front pack I at Summit Main.

That being said, A pace at Main should be around the consistent 1:23 mark, race pace is 1:19 to 1:21 in the Amateur class. Either way:

Just because I plan to be able to run that pace doesn't mean I will be able to the track feels less technical than shenny to me though

Honestly, it really isn't as technical as Shenny.
