Can't seem to unlock the rear pillion seat. Either something is prevent the key from going in all the way or something is caught up in the latch to prevent it from unlocking.

Replaced oil, looks like it has never been changed. Bought my at just under 8k miles and looks like it was used with black crude oil. Cleaned air filter, but some of it dissolved when I was cleaning it. Good ting I need to make an order to get the correct hanger pin for my rear caliper that got stripped out to save on shipping.

Changed the Oil.
Did some work on the 250. Removed the left hand electronics, extended the bars out and replaced the pinch bolts for the bars. Then I replaced the rear shock with the GSXR shock. Found that the spring was rubbing and catching on the swing arm so had to sand down the inside of the swing arm. now the shock sits w/o touching. |

Changed the fork oil weight from Motul Factory Line Medium to a 75%/25% mix of the F.L.M./30w BelRay High Performance on the street bike. Should have been a little heavier than most of the 15w based on the 40/100 charts.
Definite improvement. I have .85s in the street bike and there just was not enough rebound dampening. The bike always seemed to feel a little unsettled in the front after initial suspension movement entering a corner. Also swapped in a new set of brake pads as the pair that were in there were 75-85% worn and obviously at some point had been WAY WAY overheated (I have taken the bike to the track once before I got the track Ninjette) and felt like garbage. Went on an hour ride and both seemed to be well improved.

Took mine out for nice easy and long ride, about 300 miles or so. Also it turned 35k, 8 k of which was mine.
No plans to winterize it anytime soon.

Er, pass. I have a voltmeter for when I'm running and from it I know my system (when running cool/cold nights) would result in that thing blinking green or yellow all night long.
Sides, the solution is either run it every weekend like I've been or recognize when I'm tired enough I won't be riding for a few weeks and hook it up to a tender. Or see the voltmeter doesn't turn on when I flick the key and pop the hood of my truck to jump it if I slacked too long. It's no big, gotten good at jumping from when it sat for almost four months as I rebuilt it.

Rode in Rally the Void rally. Left Virginia Beach last Thursday for State College, PA. Started the Rally 0830 from State College. Rode into MD, WV, VA, (three hour non-moving "rest" bonus in Roanoke, VA), on to Charlotte, then Durham, NC, then the Outer Banks of NC, north to VA, up route 460 to Petersburg, I-95 To Richmond and continuing on to Fredericsburg, VA where the rally ended for me at 1430 on Saturday. Rode about 1,200 miles and finished in six place for the PA starting group (there were also starting groups from GA and TN, as well as a 10 hour rally on Saturday). I was on the smallest bike in the entire field. Interesting enough, our group's winner was on a Ninja 650. It was fun. Lots of rain, over two hours of duck walking on I-81, and a flat rear tire that had to be plugged.
Gregg

Whys extend the bars out as far as possible on a track bike? I'm planning to bring mine in as far as possible to improve aerodynamic efficiency.

How much power do those lights draw? I have been tossing around adding some small ones down at the forks using the old reflector/fender mounts. But that's after I ever get around to finishing my HID setup. Maybe this winter.

27w each. But the "plug it into a battery and point it down the road" field test was less than stellar performance. May end up buying spots that have one 25w chip vs nine 3w chips.

Plugged my rear tire the other day. Looks like it's holding air. Used my portable cigarette lighter air pump to fill her up. It took about 8 minutes to fill the rear from 0 to 35 psi.
Also, the Department of Transportation sent me over the data I requested regarding to all motorcycle accidents starting back from 2010 to present. I'll be looking at stats so I can pass it on to local MSF schools and posting them up on the interwebs for people to read and study. Also the claims adjuster finally called me today. They're cutting me a check and luckily they didn't total my bike out. I'm not sure what the original adjuster was thinking when she told me they were. Phew. Time for some replacement parts and more zip tie stitching!
