Sonoma is pretty good if she wants to go, bring a pit bike and a camera, there's tons of good places to watch from stuff to see. After racing you can take her to a nice place for dinner & wine (if she's into that), or its only a 45min ride/drive into SF. I've had a good time at Sonoma with my chick.

Most other places like Chuckwalla... not so much, I've had a terrible time with her there haha.

Why was Chuckwalla different from Sonoma, aside from the post-race activities?

I hate it when they wine after dinner. I'm more into the screaming and clawing.

Use it.... a track day in the rain is a blessing in disguise the first time around. I promise you, there is no better way to learn to be smooth while trying to be fast at the same time.

Chuckwalla is an amazing track but it has crap for facilities. It's in a parking lot in the middle of a desert. There are no businesses close by. The closest gas station is 20 miles away. The only food options at the track are Big T's overpriced BBQ and there are only bleachers along the front straight. There's no garages or electricity, so you're out in the elements (wind, sun, heat, cold) the whole time. So it's not very welcoming for spectators who like to see different areas of the track, hang out in a garage, charge their cell phone, visit a gift shop, have food options, or even hit the local 7-11 for some Tylenol.

Sonoma is much more incorporated.

Sonoma is a great place. Also, if you don't want to go into SF, there is Petaluma's downtown area which has some neat restaurants.

If you have an iPad or notebook, you could also download a timer app and ask her to record some times for you.

May make her a little more involved in what you are doing?

Either way, see you this weekend!

Believe or not, you only slow down fractionally in the rain. What really sucks is you have to clean the entire bike after.

As far as the g/f, rent her out while you're on track, and go home with a profit.

Cleaning bike or cleaning g/f? Think I would rather clean the bike as I know what cleans chain lube.

My wife used to come to the track with me- until I crashed.

Actually, I proposed to my wife at the track....the same day I crashed. She doesn't like to come with me because she doesn't like seeing me take risks. She was my photographer and my pit steward for a few years...now...I have to find friends to go with.

My suggestion is- take her. She might love it. Some people really enjoy just hanging out at the track. It is a very sociable place and can be a blast just chatting with other riders or spectators in the pits.

Nice! Luck I guess it just depends on how awesome your GF is

All I know is, in my experience it has been a bad idea. They just get bored way to damn easy because there is nothing to do, and end up nagging you most of the day. Nights are nice though after all the commotion calms down
