Idk about sexy... But I liked the parts it played better than the ones they wanted me to play. Teacher said ain't no way a trumpet can make first chair sax guess that meant I played it well, just had the wrong instrument

i've never played a reed instrument. but i've played several woodwinds. i am ... okayish at flute. i mostly play classical guitar and screw around on my les paul electric (****** epiphone) sometimes i play piano. i'm probably best at piano but its not as... umm... emotional? of an instrument. feels more like pushing buttons than a string instrument where you have so much more variability of each note.
lately though i've been getting into synthesizers and DAWs. any of you guys use reason? just got the new version. pretty slick.

I like the violin a lot. I never liked strings as a kid, but I really enjoy them now. I was always a classical music person, even as a kid.

I love my guitars, I just don't play them as much as I used to. I get tired of having to hook up wires and put them away. The violin is simple: take out of the case, put on the neck pad, tighten the bow, tune, and play. I do love jamming to some old Metallica on my guitar. I only can play with a pick and using a finger or two on my pick hand to strum other strings. There are some crazy awesome guitar parts out there that require more skill than I have. Plus, I don't really listen to heavy music anymore. I think that is why my guitars are collecting more dust than before. I may end up selling one or two of them (just keeping the two good ones).

i was given a really nice classical acoustic guitar that sits on a stand next to my desk. no wires. no straps. its so nice it holds its tune extremely well so i barely have to touch anything most of the time. just pick up and play until your fingers hurt and then set back down. probably why i play it as much as i do.

So my daughter purchased a vehicle that can carry her harp and over Christmas she packed it up and took it back to Carmi, IL with her...
that left a huge instrument void at my house... soooo Found this used from a friend, needed 2 more Zildjians but got the set at a reasonable price. His daughter no longer plays. Kick drum, 3 toms, snare (plus a back up snare), Zildjian high hat, 12 inch splash, 15" crash, 18" crash, and 21" sweet ride. oh and the pot belly stove sounds like the biggest cow bell you have ever heard. From the audience. from the pilot's seat

Who here plays an instrument?
I just sold my pro sax, so I am down to two instruments. I have a Yamaha intermediate level flute and a violin. I started to learn the violin years ago, but put it down due to life. Since I don't have my guitars anymore either, I want to play a stringed instrument of some kind, this seems like a logical choice as it won't cost me anything other than a few bucks in books.

My parents started me on violin when I was 5. Picked up piano at 10. Played piano piece at my HS graduation. Currently looking at picking up kazoo & harmonica.

I studied classical piano for ten years, ending when I went to college. At that point I bought an electric guitar and dabbled in that until about three years ago when I started to take it more seriously. I play one daily now.

Played keyboard/piano all through school, but it hasn't been as big a part of my life since then. Now have both kids banging away at it as well, with the hope it helps in opening up some opportunities like it did for my wife and I.

I've been improving a lot. For those who have been in string world, I'm still in first position, but I feel more comfortable. Started playing double-stops as well. The hard thing is still getting the feel for proper bow placement. I got a cheap shoulder rest and I am having issues with it. So my parents demanded gift ideas. I have two new shoulder rests, one is eh in price, and another was like $45. I hope that one works wonders. I've seen pros use it and I think the design is much improved over the $10 ones. I do enjoy the challenge of a fretless fingerboard. Mad respect to any guitarist/bassist and other string players who can master it. Intonation is a big B with these, but I have to admit, even with that, it is so much fun.

I’m visiting my family in California and ran into my old guitar from when I was in high school. I’m hoping if I take it back with me it may spur me into taking up the guitar again.

Currently, I'm playing the violin and I'm really enjoying it. It's funny because I used to hate playing strings, but now I have a newfound appreciation for them. In the past, I mostly played the guitar and my 5-string bass, but I wanted to try something new. I've found that playing the violin has challenged me in new ways and has helped me improve my overall musicianship. Plus, it's always fun to try out new instruments. I've been thinking about picking up the ukulele next - it looks like a lot of fun to play.

My husband plays a ukulele. He picked it up when we took a cruise to Hawai'i; the ship had ukulele lessons on board to fill the sea days in transit. Now he's got ... 4? I think. They're a lovely instrument.

I'm just on guitar currently. All the old is gone, now I have an Ibanez electric acoustic with a built in tuner, and a epiphone sg. Still have my flute, violin, and an old alto, but I only play guitar now. Just don't have time to dedicate to anything else

My church also has me on percussion a lot lately. Mainly a Cajon, but I am tuning up a used drum set now. Still need to get a kick pedal for it and some cymbal hardware, but otherwise it is good to go.
Though I'm not sure how loud it will be if I really get into it. We will have to adapt our mic setup for the kit, put up a shield to calm down the kit noise level, and maybe go to hot rods....I did get us some 7A sticks (lightest solid sticks I could find). This will be fun haha
