I stuck one of my magnetic name badge magents under the headlights using the little plastic rivet. I was worried the camera might come off, so I tied a lanyard to it.... worked great, but the lanyard got tangled in the forks on my test ride and the camera popped off when I parked the bike and the forks turned! :-)
It is a nice place to shoot from.... Think I'll put one in the same spot on wife's bike.

This is pretty cool. I am interested in recording some vid, more so for just incases than trying to put together vids and i have never liked go pro's so this might be the ticket.

Might have to grab one of these. I will probably use one of my back up usb battery chargers rather than running the cable up front.

I forgot to recharge mine yesterday and was riding home with my wife behind on her bike last night. A doe just sauntered out across in front of me just after dark. I really regret not charging my battery b/c it would have been a good shot of a deer. Unlike the deer that dart in front of my car, this one was not in any hurry... a motorcycle must not be much of a threat to them. Wifey was giving me a hard time b/c I didn't hit my brakes until after I'd passed the deer.... I told her I knew I'd miss the deer, there was no need to brake, but I started to think about her 10 seconds behind me and that possible 2nd deer and braked to alert her.

Here's the license plate harness, which side am I supposed to crimp the 12v port to, side A or B? (Or am I supposed to buy another harness..?) And based off the DIY thread, it's as easy as simply crimping the wires to the harness? |

hmm...
i might think about switching up from my helmet mounted contour to this, just to attract less attention, and be able to record stealthily. Is the V3 not as good as the V2? |

Just purchased one of these little guys on eBay. I'll probably get a 32GB microSDHC class 10 from MicroCenter for $19.99 (http://www.microcenter.com/product/3...ash_Media_Card)
Wondering where I should mount it... Do you think it would stay put if I velcro'd it to my helmet?

Sweet. Got the camera today, all I could find to test it was an old 1gb SD card from my old work blackberry, lol. Seems to work well enough.
I need to go get that 32gb card and mount the thing to my helmet. Ill post a vid eventually :-)

just ordered a Mobius from the bay of E. If I like it, I might get another if not I may get either a #16 or a #26 as a second.
What does everyone use to edit their raw video?

You should like the mobius. Hope you got a few extra mounting cups/plates.
I use VideoPAD to edit my stuff. The free version won't save in mp4, and I use another app to convert the AVI it does put out to MP4.

I'm not sure why...but I use Final Cut Pro. Pretty much overkill given what I do for editing (just chopping up stuff). Kinda like eating McDonalds off of the fine China. Oooooh well

Great lil camera's but just remember a few things w/ your mounting points...
Camera's are not waterproof No remote start/stop recording -- In order to record while charging, all camera have to be disconnected from USB start recording then plug in. I personally had mine inside helmet to do vlogs, mic just not good enough and pics up too much wind noise...

here is part of the DIY that was listed "So I have been contemplating adding my 12v power source I had in my 250 to my zx6r. Finally took the time to actually do it. I personally like to have things like this hidden and I have to say, I'm very happy with the outcome. I personally used the connector from my license plate light since I don't use it. This way the 12v source will not work unless the bike is running and it also alleviates me from having to use an inline fuse (the lic. plate light is on its own fuse). You could easily wire it directly to your battery, but remember to add a 15amp inline fuse at the battery source, otherwise you could end up having bigger problems... and the other draw back is if you leave something plugged in, your battery will most likely be dead in 2 hours or so."

Action cam
Since this thread started, I've gotten a mobius camera... the successor to the 808. I've ordered but haven't received a waterproof case for it yet.
I have seen a water resistant sleeve (condom if you will) here Mobius Sleeve . They sell a side helmet mount that works well, I have one. Looks like you could cut out the USB port in the sleeve and have a decent water resistant setup. Also, on ebay they have real waterproof cases for the 808 Lens A camera... not the wide angle lens.

I'm starting to think *if* I get it. They keep moving the backorder date. Last I emailed them, they said March 4, now the backorder shows tomorrow. Been on slipping back order since mid January.
On a positive note, they are responsive to questions and honest... it's a supply problem at this moment. I hope it's worth the wait.

Make sure to get the 'msetup' software from site to configure it.
Only thing I found I don't like about it is the .mov option only. I'm sure an update will fix that soon.
