My suspension guy is doing what he call a "Frankenshock" for my 300. It's parts from a GSXR shock mixed with parts from a ZX6r shock, plus some custom valving. He said it is much better than the stock GSXR shock conversion. Having ridden his 250 I can say that it really does seem to work well. Will let you know how it is once I get mine on the track, which will hopefully be in a week or two.

My problem is that our club racing for the 250 supersport class (and Ninja 250 Cup) allows modifying the rear shock, but does not allow modifying the airbox (which is needed for the ZX6) and the links have to be stock as well. So unless the ride height is about the same and it can go in without interfering with the airbox, I can't really use it. It looks like most of the other 250s in the area use a GSXR shock and just deal with the slightly lower ride height. |

Keith Hertell at Road & Track (San Antonio) is who I use. I believe he did say that the airbox was going to need to be modded, which in my case is not a problem because I am going to switch to a pod filter.

The only mod you will need to make is to remove the flap under the fender and relieve a little plastic.
I've built about 20 of these shocks in the last few years for the 250 and 300's. The OEM GSXR shock is too short. We use a combo of parts from a zx6 shock and gsxr shock to make it the proper length. Revalve it and add a spring and spacer. We also machine the clevis and provide some custom spacers. Depending on certain things they run anywhere from $300 to $450 |

The $300 version is you sending me the shocks and not wanting the the bells and whistles like the torrington bearing, new shock spring, spacers etc.
