No. If the challenge goes on for too long then the last successful player can pick a new challenge. Not just anyone. In this case that is "the big mike". Your best option is to put him on ignore and report his pm's to you. There is a report button on the pm's as well as posts. It is the triangle with the exclamation mark in it.

Dammit!!! I totally went on a 3 hour ride opposite of the direction of the ferry today.

I did find one of those electric wind mill things though, didn't know we had one in my town, but that was an old one.
