I installed a brighter headlight as my low beam (non HID). I'll take a pic with the blinker on with the low beam and high beam tomorrow if it's not raining.

Touche...never thought about the turn signals being affected. I don't ride with brights on at night, but I may start turning off in day now too

I looked at mine earlier today with the regular and brights on and mine was not nearly so bad as in this picture. I'll have to look at it close and further away with the bike parked. I'm not saying that the photo is false, but some cameras focus on things differently as well. I have never seen this effect with any type of properly aligned high beams before. I have seen this effect with improper alignment and improper HID kits... or I need to pay more attention to some of them.

Yes true but for them to avoid looking at somebody with highbeams on they had to know that you were there in the first place. So highbeams do their job to a point but a fellow poster once told me that having your highbeams on could also have a downside. When you have your highbeams on during the day other people cannot see your turn signals, which is really bad.

I high beam it at sunset and other times during the day depending on the situation. I actually had my friend come up the road the other way just so he could tell me how it looked (don't want to be that guy that's blinding everyone and not being courteous to other people.) He didn't feel like they were a problem. Furthermore, I see other bikes on the road running their high beams and I never felt blinded by them like I do when cars are doing it. I dunno, just my thoughts on it I guess

Doubt it would make a difference. They are a danger altogether. BTW, I just did that out of curiosity because I obviously can't see. I usually ride without.
Hopefully the po po will stop pulling me over for a "light out." |

Do you ride with the high beams on during the day?
I rode with high beams on during the day for years. Last year, I saw this video and decided to give riding with them off. My conclusion: Ehhhhhh, makes no difference.

I don't. When I see other people with their brights on on their bike it's sometimes overwhelming to me. I don't have much issue with being seen, anyway. There are so many bikes where I live that people are used to them.

On a 2 lane road, no. Blinds oncoming traffic.
On a divided highway, yes. People zone out and don't check their mirrors. In between my hi-viz helmet and the high beam, I find that it makes them glance up at the rear-view mirror and surprisingly often they move out of my way. At night only when warranted. Today's road signs are so reflective that it can be counterproductive.

I want to be seen but blinding oncoming traffic is not helping anyone. My horn gets peoples attention just fine.

When I am lanesharing through slow-moving traffic I will turn on the high beams, otherwise I just run with the low beams.

With the headlight modulator installed, how would you flash someone to tell them they can go? Sometimes when I hit a 4 way stop sign the same time as another vehicle, I'll flash my high beams 3 or 4 times letting them know I'm yielding to them.
