Holy **** dude! Sounds like quite an ordeal. Glad you're doing better! What gear were you wearing other than the helmet? If you haven't already, you should go rate that icon helmet 1000 stars.

I'll post pics of the other gear, it was a SS textile jacket, dickies as pants because I was on my way to work, some SS textile gloves, and Navy flight deck steel toe boots. |

I have never been a fan of textile jackets, was my only textile jacket, do have leather jackets and leather gloves. just happened to be wearing that jacket at that time.
and I was told I only had 1 broken rib, no other broken stuff. I do have bad vision because of the hits on the head (wearing helmet) and still soreness on the left leg (all of it). |

member at another rider site: I just educated myself on something. According to this article http://www.msf-usa.org/index_new.cfm...at%20To%20Wear "Both the shell and the liner essentially self-destruct, if hit hard, by spreading the forces of impact throughout the helmet material. The more impact energy that is deflected or absorbed, the less there is of it to reach your head and do damage. Some helmet shells delaminate on impact, while others may crack or break if severely impacted. This is one way a helmet acts to absorb shock. It is doing its intended job. Impact damage to the non-resilient liner may be invisible to the eye; it may look great, but probably has little protective value left and should be replaced." he also mentioned he didn't know a helmet would crack that way so he did some research and mentioned it. |

Never crashed or dropped the 250r or my new bike.
I got that out of my system at the MSF course, lowsided on of their 250s when we were riding in the rain and broke one of their helmets, too. Kinda counts I think... |

I think there is a big difference between a crash and a drop.
Crash: you are moving. Never. Drop: not moving. I've had this happen twice, once on an EX500 when my boot slipped on some sand while stopped at an intersection, and once on an F650 while stopped in some deep mud on a dirt road in Costa Rica.

Pushing the limit at the track can and will lead to crashing.
