Winter is here.

Today looks like the only day for about a week that might be ride-able. Doesn't matter anyway, I'm on pain meds because I had a molar pulled yesterday. Oh, and the wind is gusting to 55

It's 70 degrees here in Georgetown, IN today but windy and cool since it's pretty cloudy. I wish I could have gone riding but I had some zombies (aka sick boyfriend and kids) to attend to. WAH, mom-fail.

Jeff, I don't know what's with this wind. It has been 2 weeks straight of 35 to45mph with some incredible gusts. We have had trees down and siding blow off the house. No wind today and the daytime temp is 34F. I did go for a ride today.

We've had healthy wind for about a week now. Only time it stopped was last night during the snow. Actually, the streets today were just wet with the temps above freezing - but couldn't get out for a ride. Oh well.

We are in for some sun next weekend and I have a big choice to make: Ride or ski.

Its not even cold here yet. The hot and humid summers suck, but our mild winter is delightful. I went out for a short ride a couple of days ago for a little bike/rider shakedown, wore the mesh jacket with no liner.

Though not participating in the challenge, it was a brisk 27°F when I left the house this morning for my 13 mile commute. Still having problems finding decent unheated gloves. The Tourmaster Elite gloves weren't any more comfortable than the $20 Pakistani-made generic insulated gloves I bought at the bike show last year. After 13 miles this morning at highway speeds my fingers were completely numb and even now, two hours later, still hurt. I've got heated gloves but haven't installed them yet; turns out the wiring harness was missing when I went to set them up yesterday.

It was around 28°F last Saturday and I only rode for about 15 miles. Just enough to get it warmed up for the oil change I had planned before I officially put it away. My perforated leather gloves were no match for the cold.

And here, 6 weeks of rain, non stop. Only half a day of dry roads this sunday. I like the rain and fog but this is becoming depressing.

Had just 2 days of near freezing temperatures.
