Looks like you're using the same method as me for widening the holes... Probably took me about 30 minutes total on those... I was using a diamond head bit that seemed to cut through better than just my normal bit I had... Used a bit of elbow grease as well, pushing as I would go around the hole...

Crank that dremel up to like 30,000 rpm. That will grind through metal in no time with a decent bit

I took the wife out shopping for Ninjettes and then went home and did some work on the mistress. I really do miss having the 250 in the stable and am looking to remedy that very soon...so I stole a ride on a friend of mines 2006, man I miss the light weight and genuine fun factor. Nonetheless here is some moto-porn to make the post worthy
Mori-Waki radiator grilles installed: Took out the very restrictive factory airbox..... Cleaned out the dirt and one unlucky honey bee: And replaced it with a carbon/kevlar/glass race box from TurnOne carbon australia (lost a ton of weight up high and gained considerable power (~8rwhp): Then I starterd her up to make sure I didn't ruin anything: http://www.facebook.com/v/10150542465647000

Too impatient to wait for the JIS screw driver bits and replacement hex screws for the carb cover to do the shim...I put my Danmoto slip-on today and took my baby out for a ride. Weird enough, the bike warmed up much quicker, didn't even need to use the choke and it was a bit cold outside and overall, I am not suffering from the lean symptoms I expected...I guess my bike could have been a bit rich from factory...but am still going to do the shim and desnorkel. Another thing, I had trouble with was the hanger...couldn't really bend it sit flush with the exhaust, but it's very stable in its current position. How is it with you guys (guys with the Danmoto of coarse )

Also, I haven't done the shimming yet either and I too have noticed very little choke time is needed now, and before, I was needing it for at least a couple minutes during the warm up... I have ridden a few hundred miles with it like this so far, and overall, it seems pretty nice! The whole power band and deceleration seems smoother overall...

Make sure you have the right tools, and it shouldn't be a problem. If you still have trouble cracking the bolts on the carb covers, I would just suggest taking them off and doing it... You really don't want to strip those f***ers. PS: Don't get angry, one of mine was so stuck it broke in half when I was taking it out and I had a huge problem as half the bolt was stuck in the carb. |

Even though it shames me to admit, it took me 3 freaking days to get my danmoto slip-on on! Most of the time was spent widening the holes on the hangar (crappy Dremel had be recharged every 10 minutes or so ), gloomy weather and no garage were also contributing factors, but all that is overshadowed by mine own thickheadedness when it came to proper installation.Oh well, thanks to you folks, I was able to get it done. I salute thee 'o great and wise seers of ninjette.org!

I did a lot
I cleaned up the edges of my modified intake lid by using a blowtorch lightly on all the edges I installed R1 mirrors http://www.ninjette.org/forums/showthread.php?t=97660 I installed Galfer SS brake lines Check out the difference in color from my old DOT 4 fluid to my new DOT 5.1 fluid! it was definitely time for a fluid change and line change, because the SS lines are rock hard now I also started looking at how to get my CBR250 hugger on my pre-gen. Not so sure if that's going to work. There's really a limited space in there due to the oem undertail... I might have to fab something up with just the hugger portion of it instead of using the whole swingarm thing. more futzing time later. I'm not in the motorcycle futzing mood at the moment. |

First time working on my ninja yesterday...changed oil, flushed the radiator, and cleaned the chain. Remove & Reinstall all fairings. Did everything myself with a some guidance from my BF. No missing screws or leftover screws. I'm proud of myself! I did all of that while recovering from a left sprained ankle.
Also modified the carbs and took out the snorkel from the air box.

@mar3s24 isn't working on your bike a thrill in it's own way?? It gives you a real sense of accomplishment and makes you feel like a total badass for being handy enough to do work on your own.

I lubed my swingarm, shimmed the cush drive, changed rear sprockets from a 41 tooth to a 33 tooth and shortened the chain. I'll test ride tomorrow.

Finished adjusting the brake side rear set so everything fits with the exhaust and fairings, then put the bike back together. Gave her another nice cleaning/polishing and put a nice 2 stage polish on the carbon fiber exhaust can :P This east coast rainy weather is killing me

Got the motor back in my bike Sat night, fired right up and purred like a kitten.
Now just waiting on an accessory fuseblock so i can get to work tidying up this mess of wires for my aftermarket goodies. That and order some connectors from Eastern Beaver if I can find out what the tag light plug is and if he sells it. |

I replaced the screws on my on my front master brake reservoir since I stripped one screw and had to dremel a slot in it to get it out when I installed my ss lines. I also noticed that I left a couple nicks in the reservoir cap when I used the dremel I might replace that later since I'm anal. The new screws are nice and shiny, and are hexz key heads so I don't have to worry about any more stripping.
I also replaced the M5x10 screw that holds the throttle cable bracket to the carbs since that stripped a while ago. |

took it out of the house and back to the garage, went for the first ride of the year just around the block, got all my winter mods done except for the jet kit so I didn't want to ride it to much, but once I started it up for the first time to hear the Area P, I couldn't resist a quick spin. Going to drop it off later this week at a local shop and have the jet kit installed and DYNOed.

I got to ride it!!
Started on the jetting to compensate for my intake mod, and took out the silencers in my slipons. 108 mains = perfect. 2 washers is a little lean, I'll try another one tomorrow. I also LOVE all my winter mods +2 teeth on the rear, and Galfer SS brake lines, and an opened up intake lid. |

I changed that little rubber knob on the gauges, the one covering travel reset button. It rotted away and I was afraid water would leak inside while raining.
I also checked fork alignment again, and finally concluded that everything is ok with the bike, it's the roads which are messed up. I don't know yet if that is good or not. |

I swear nothing goes easy for me. I got my EOM rear seat cowl in the mail today, go to put it on tonight and the gap looks pretty good around it but the rear over the taillight is off center to one side by 1/4 to 1/2 inch where one side has a gap from the tail section and the other side starts to hang over the tail section. I'm guessing when I installed the Targa Fender Elim. kit last summer, I got it off of center. Never really noticed it with the seat on until I put the seat back on now. Story of my life, one step forwards and 2 steps back.
