Sorry, that's what I should've said. The filter was nasty and the air box looked like a waste bin. Leaves and junk all inside. Not what I wanted to see when I was replacing the filter. Luckily I had time to clean that all out. Everything's good as new now.

rode it to the Yamaha Demo Truck Event at Matthews Fun Machines.
I rode the FZ8, FZ6R, Super Ténéré, and the V Star 950 tourer...

Great event and a chance to ride some nice bikes on the road with a group of enthusists. Check the schedule on the link and go if you can....

Finally got in some of the plastics, so installed front cowling, side cover, and rear fairing. Discovered front cowling stay was still bent. But did wire up my i5motorcycle flush mounts and used one of the busted cowlings to see how they look properly wired and all.

My frankenbike is slowly coming together.

I finely got my 15T/41T installed. I think they shipped it from Kentucky to California via the south pole. What a pain in the rump to get that front sprocket off. I would have less trouble rebuilding the motor. I blocked the rear tire with a 2x4 and used a breaker bar. No luck. I finely bought an impact wrench (I needed to replace my old one anyway) with 750 foot pounds torque, poof right off.

Changing to 15T/41T, now I'll get that 7th gear, lol.

Installed the front stay (new) and mounted the instrument cluster and cowling, the front cowling and headlight, and then discovered Plasti Dip!

Blacked out my windscreen, then touched up some of the black plastics by sanding and spraying.

Tested out the GSXR shock. It's a night and day improvement over stock but it makes the front feel even worse. Swapped back on stick shock until I have new links made and get my intiminators from home.

I will have to see if I need them or not after I install the Intiminators. The install with the intiminators requires 5wt fork oil so it going be interesting as to how they will perform.

Fixed the damn choke plunger that I forgot to screw on when I did my Area-P and FP Stage 3 install. Found out that the battery died so I went to get a Battery Tender Jr. For only ~$23 it seems like it's just a good thing to have around rather than rushing off to AutoZone to have them charge it.

Also did a spark plug check and found that the plugs looked awesome and I'm content with my current jetting.

Going to let the battery fully charge, reinstall, and then give the bike a much needed wash.

Bike has been sitting for about 3 weeks, I have some leftover Seafoam from treating my ZX6R and will run it through the remaining ~2 gallons in the 250 and hope that there isn't any significant gunk in the carbs.

Rode it for the first time in around a month.

First mistake = downshifting into 1st while rolling at around 20mph and letting the clutch out.

Thought I had a flat since the bike felt so low and narrow, I would kill for a flared-out tank on the 250.

Actually neither do I, but off late my battery's drained on me at least twice... So I figured I'd rather have it than not... I think my hids are taking a toll on my battery...

Yessirs! about $196 if i recall correctly. They didn't have a 110 front but I couldn't complain about the price for the 120.

Went from 112.5 mains to 115's and re-did the idle mixture screws due to poor performance when commuting at night at around ~55-60F temperatures. Might also fiddle around with the needle height next week if the mid-range is lacking. It ran like a dream when it was jetted during the summer heat when riding temperatures were around 85-90F, so I figured the lower air temperature was making it run lean. Did a plug check and found out that cylinder #1 was running slightly leaner than cylinder #2 so I'm planning to do a carb sync sometime in the future.

On a side note, I invested $5 to get one of those telescoping magnetic pick-up tools and used some foil to catch any falling bolts from the fuel bowls. Lots of headache avoided.

pushed it out of the way to start work on getting a Virago running to hopefully flip in spring. And then went for a short ride just up and back down the road since I hadn't since lifting the front end back up and putting my clipons under the tripple tree. It handles a lot better but my back is going to kill me when I go on a longer ride... I don't have any impressive stories about falling out of helicopters or getting shot or anything, I just lifted a Honda Civic motor myself and ever since, it's bugged me.

I got a new RK X ring chain and JT gears in the mail (like $108 shipped off amazon), I have pod filters coming, I removed the baffles from my stock pipes. So it will be in need of jetting come spring... I have stainless allen head screws and stainless washers I got off McMastercarr.com for cheap and jets from Jetsrus already.

Installed an Area P custom Dyno Jet kit after cleaning up the carbs. Tmrw, install the carbs, remove the kleen air system, remove the snorkel and backfire screen from the air box, and install the Area P mid-high mount race exhaust!
