That could happen in a multitude of vehicles, i have seen people die from getting t-boned in a car. Both responsible driving and protective equipment are an individuals choice.

I knew Portlandia would deliver :-) I actually felt sorry for this couple. Found them on Halsey just past 102nd Ave. A squid and his mate, both in flip-flops, both in half helmets and that was it. The poor lady kept having her shirt blow up.

So if he were concerned about being too hot, why wear black? If you are not concerned with getting hurt, why wear boots? This guy was a cluster-fk of confusion...
That wasn't me was it ? Lol

I'm convinced that Ohio has a law AGAINST helmets. Misdemeanor for sport bikes, felony for cruisers...

Hyperbole, my friend.

I saw several touring bikes on I-77 ATGATT, but once off the highways, I saw many bikes and VERY few helmets.

Had a guy come up to me while I was getting on my bike, he motioned to my helmet and said, "your smart man". I lifted my visor and noticed the cast on his arm, he turned around and came back to show me his battle wounds from riding without any gear. He had road rash along his entire arm, some deep enough that he needed stitches, broke other arm and under his hat he was missing most of his hair from his head sliding on the ground. He told me he wished he was as smart as I was for wearing gear and that he now regrets not wearing any. Kind of made me sit there and think for a few

This school rode in while I was having lunch. It took me awhile to get the camera out so they had dismounted before I got the picture. The girl in the striped shirt and the guy in the black shirt were two-up and the only gear they've removed was the helmets. Same with the others standing around, gear=helmet only.

Had a guy this morning stop in the middle of the crosswalk I was waiting at looks at me, points at his mangled leg and tells me that he wishes he would have been as smart. I truly felt bad for the guy :-(

The amount of people not wearing gear just astounds me here in Portland, OR. I just can't fathom how people do it. Sure, I'm hot, but I'd rather sweat than lose a few pounds of skin or bone ugh

BS one of the forums that linked the video had numerous comments that the speedo in the video was at 95 ten seconds before impact.
