haha thank you I actually bought the bike with the levers like this. turns out it's very helpful ... I dropped it 4 times that day and because the levers were already bent back, they didn't break.

One suggestion - please get some race boots and pants with knee protection. The chances of low-siding and getting you ankle between the engine/peg and the concrete look pretty good. Ankle injuries are nasty. |

Good on the knee and shin guards, but a mx or road race boot would be a lot better than the street riding shoes. You want a rigid boot. A shoe ain't gonna cut it if your foot ends up between the cycle and the ground.

Awesome shot, Katie!! You're a badass!
I adore my AlpineStars Stella SMX-5s. I wear them on every single ride, and they definitely work. I've field tested multiple times! http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001IZEUQ6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 They're comfy and the all-black ones are even pretty stylish in jeans.

on the lean angle bike at the international moto show. it's actually really hard to stay on these things. if you put your knee down, you fall down. any other time my bike has been at this angle, it's when I was dropping it...... lol

What if you grip with the outside thigh/knee? Would you still fall off putting a knee out?

hahaha. yeah you can't put your knee down. the tank is too slippery and contoured to provide enough grip to hold you by your right leg. you had to have all your weight on your left hand. people had to sign a consent form saying if they fell off they wouldn't sue for injuries lol

I did that at the NY show, this was the best I could do with hooking my right foot around the underside of the bike.

I gave up horse back riding long time ago... I found out, i couldn't get "in harmony" with the horse's stride... Got tired of going down on my saddle while it was going up...

I never quite got what you guys call it horse "back" riding. Are there are parts of the horse that you guys sit on in the states?
Over here we do "horse riding". The "back" part is assumed. It's a bit like calling motorcycle riding: motorcycle seat riding. No complaint. Just a confused Brit

Weirdly I never thought much of the "back" part, more so of the animal. "Horse"back vs mule, or ox, or other riding animal. But my Google fu is showing places offer "Horseback and mule rides" so that shoots that theory.
Need a language geek!

I'm probably exposed to a lot more American culture than you lot are exposed to British culture. I've noticed that there are lots of words we use use differently. Petrol = gas. Side walk = pavement. Pants = trousers. Underwear = pants. Drive stick = ... drive (automatics are pretty rare over here).
I prefer some of the American words; I've even seen enough American shows that I even find myself using your words sometimes. The main things that throw me about American lingo is the verbosity: I notice that British equivalent phrases are often much shorter. Also it hurts my brain when Americans say "aluminium" and "genuine". Sorry. Off topic I'll make up for it by posting a pic in here one day of me on my bike!

<hijack from girls thread>
Teri, you could have hung off that bike if you'd put your arm in contact with that tank. That, and driving your outside knee into the tank. Still awkward as hell, though. BTW, I got rearsets for Christmas. Knees farther up the tank now, easier to lock in. </hijack>
