Ok Ladies. She's all done. Here's some pics and they are not necessarily in order because I'm tired after JUST BUILDING A BIKE. So suck it up and enjoy.

Not at all. They are two completely different bikes. You ride the 250 for handling. You ride the 1000 for power.

I prefer the 250.

HAHA un-related … hardly

congrats on the new bike!

What are the transmission symptoms ?
that determines to what extent you have to tear it down.

I figured out what the issue was. The matching 4th (I think) gear set was broken. Clutch drops perhaps? Who knows. Took the motor down and replaced the gears. She runs like a dream now. Couldn't ask for a better bike. So now it's for sale!

you guys are going to lose sleep over it haha

you going to do it all out of that garage or you going to go big and get a retail locations and get financing and the whole nine yards?

I can relate to you, buy it fix it , ride it sell it haha
except I don't always fix it before I sell ittttt. as long as I got to ride it!

Sweet bike. What are your intentions after this one is sold? How hard was the work? What are the other bikes you have?

In the spirit of CL I will offer you $1,000.00 and 14 valve stems for a pre gen Ninja rim, or I will trade you even for a Honda 75 cc scooter.

GLWS.

After this bike I'll get another one and do it again. It was very hard work. F4i, ninja 250 and ninja 500.

$1000 wouldn't even pay for the labor but I'll let you sit in it for that much. Might even let you ride on the back.

That's the CL spirit! I am afraid I am on the same, destructive cycle. Buy one, fix everything, flip it for something different.

Glad to hear that from someone. If you want to go fast in a straight line...buy an airplane ticket.

So what upgrades have you done to the 250 AND...what do you recommend doing?

haha , FLipping on CL is a good way to

A - make your hobby pay for itself

B- Get started.

- PRoblem is to make the real money you have to go legit and have a license and offer financing - There is a spot here in fayetteville where two guys went on their own and do a ton of CL advertising and sales. But they are big because they have Financing and are right by the military base.

I would be a little apprehensive about buying bikes there if I were a customer.

You walk in the show room and they have 20-30 used bikes- mostly nice but all in various states of after market everything.

Look out the back door- another 30 bikes - smashed half complete and with pieces of tape on them listing what is broken.

But its a good gig.

You going to make it big or just do the one at a time thing?

On my current one? Nothing.

I recommend:

shims, jet kit, exhaust, Racetech emulators, Pirelli tires, GSX-R rear shock, k&n pod filter.

That should get you started

Wouldn't mind making it a gig. Made pretty good money on the zx10r. Seems like a legit way to go if I have a steady source of projects. Wouldn't mind making a business if it pans out. I'd love to have my own shop for all of my friends to mooch off of.

I have an idea for you. open a shop that JUST does oil changes and add on basics like brakes...air filter changes etc. advertise in and out in an hour for oil.
