I've got a two bros on in the mail. Still gonna be loud but shouldn't be quite so obnoxious.

On a side note, I got my power commander dyno tuned. 112.73hp the rear wheel!

112 ain't too shabby!

Two Brothers full system? The slip-on is pretty quiet from what I've read because a ton of the sound is contained in the big cat box thingy right before the exhaust can.

The full system rips though

Lol the bike has MJS race headers. So the slip on connects to the end of the header. There is no catalytic converter, no muffler, nothing. It's completely straight piped. So with that slash cut tip, it's just obnoxious. I'm hoping the two bros will quiet it down just a little and maybe deepen the sound a little.

how's that going to physically connect?

The Two Brothers can has their X-whatever connection system. Are you going to mount up the TB mid-pipe to the racing header?

The way MJS works is, your send them your entire factory system and they build you a set of headers that match the dimensions of your stock setup exactly, so the outlet location and diameter are exactly the same as from the factory.

If you don't mind me asking, is there a big difference in insurance prices going from a 250 to that beast? I've been curious b/c I'll probably end up getting a 600 next season.

Unfortunately.. that is one of the things I really do miss about my 250. Now because I'm only 18, my insurance is already outrageous. But with my Ninja, I was paying $153 a month for full coverage with $250 deductibles. The same coverage with the same deductibles for the R6 was a little over 3 times as much. So right now, I'p paying $94 a month for just liability. So yeah, it's A LOT more. This is with progressive, and like I said I'm 18 and I have a perfect driving record.

Congrats on the new ride!!
I'v seen quite a few people around here selling 09s for anywhere between $5k (most of those have been dropped and are in rough condition) - $7k (most in reasonably good condition)

So it shouldn't be too hard for ya.

edit: perfect example http://batonrouge.craigslist.org/mcy/2980970575.html

Damn!! I may just hold off until I turn 25 then. I hear that helps quite a bit with insurance.

My insurance on the R6 will go down to pretty much exactly what I was paying for my 250 when I turn 25. So until then, I'll have to live with just liability.

Just sayin here...

I bought my bike used for 1600. Not worth paying full coverage when that coverage costs as much as a new bike every other year...

Liability and uninsured motorist is like $150 per year for me. pre-gens rock.

Progressive. I have more than minimum liability, and the second level of uninsured motorist, and idk about what deductible I have. Mine is $150/year. You said yours was $153/month. That's a factor of 12

I'm paying $112/mo for full coverage on the 2011 ZX I just picked up. That's 100/300 coverage. There isn't enough savings to justify 25/50 coverage so I just kept the higher limits. I was only paying about $80/mo for the same coverage on the 2008 ZX I had. I was pretty pissed about the increase honestly, but after seeing what some of you are paying, I guess I'll be happy with my relatively low insurance costs.

I personally like the new cbr 600s, though I haven't gotten a chance to go sit on some of the different 600s. A close second is definitely the r6s though

We don't have twisties in middle TN...the closest thing to it is probably Blue Ridge Parkway, but I don't have the time to take it way up there.

dude, I put over 11,000 miles on my 250 and ill be the first person to tell you that I wasn't ready for the power of this bike. the 250 is plenty fast for anything you could want on the street. There have been quite a few times where I was coming out of a corner and I got on it just like I would have on my 250 and I've almost ate **** because the back tire broke loose. That never happened on the ninja. And just to back up what @choneofakind said, I can't corner nearly as fast on this bike as I could with my ninja. I'm not sure if it's because I'm just not used to it yet or if it's because the 250 is just that much more nimble.

Anyway, the moral of the story is, enjoy your 250 for a while. Go hit some twistys and it that isn't enough fun, go find yourself a secluded parking lot somewhere and practice doing some wheelies. That'll occupy you for a few weeks.

Do you all think if I got a Triumph Street Triple R, that my insurance wouldn't be as high as a super sport? I think it's the cc's and the age that affects the amount the most.

Unfortunately, I believe insurance companies only categorize bikes as either cruisers, trikes, sport bikes or scooters. A street triple would be considered a sport bike so the insurance would be just as much as any other 600cc bike. who knows, they might even charge you more for the extra 75cc's.. Lol

Went through progressive to see what they cost and they were giving me $155 without uninsured motorist. I'll look at some other companies and see what I get.

Edit: Geico was $158
