Lol..I was just about to post. Basically suffering from depression. Had to put my baby in about a month ago so getting used to busing it now. Got back into dating because my baby's in and I need a mistress but the girl I was dating was driving me nuts, so ....lol

---

For someone who comes back for a day or two and goes poof after that I sure do make a lot of noise...

Nyhooo Circe is in for the winter . Haven't ridden her in a month, except for the one time I had to take her to get her tank full....those five minutes...
Nyhooo So, back to the present. Given that I won't be upgrading for some time, I have decided to start on a long term project I call Circe and Baron 2.0.
Not only will I be working on Circe but I will also be working on my own self[which basically includes getting better gear and improving my skills].
I might not be able to do all of this winter given my tight financial condition now but I will get it done before the next season is over.
So here is an overview, in the order of decreasing importance.

Circe 2.0
  • Engine Oil Drain Housing...Done
  • Left Side Fairing replacement
  • Spiegler SS Brake Lines
  • Chain + Sprocket set change
  • Woodcraft Clip Ons
  • Flush mount Turn Signals
  • Integrated Tail Lights
  • GSXR Rear Shock
  • Zx-6R Cowl + Headlights
  • Zero Gravity Double Bubble Windscreen
  • Go Pro Setup...Done
  • Ram Mount

Baron 2.0
  • Race Gloves
  • 2 Piece Racing Suit
  • Track Day

Aww, sorry to hear the season has ya down. Time will pass before you know it and (with or without a mistress), Circe will be eager to get out again come spring!

Some of the things on your shopping list you may be able to pick up cheap from fleabay, source of all Chinese knock offs. The LED turn signals and tail/brake light I picked up from these folks (http://stores.ebay.com/kayakarcticstore/) actually work very well. The lights are really bright. My flush mounts from CustomLED have also impressed me for their brightness but man they weren't cheap.

Unless you have a specific reason for the Zero Gravity, there are some good knock offs on Amazon as well, like http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 The only reason I am considering dropping the cash on a real ZG is the Sport Touring screen is much taller than the Double Bubble and head wind sucks.

Keep us updated on the tweaks. Your baby will be looking hot by the time your done!

It would have to wait till May end, when I turn 25. Since I am moving out....again. I want to have it under my name, not my fathers and as the primary rider not a secondary one..it's an ego thing....my family is nuts. Right now I've been given a quote of 5100 a year because I am under 25 and don't have a full M(I have an M2 and I have to wait for at least 22 months for a full M). When I turn 25 it drops to 2000 a year. So either I'll head to the track next spring or I wait till I turn 25 because I am not riding without insurance....yeah....I'm a wuss.

Awesome!
I am not too keep on getting ZG windscreens if there is an alternative that does the job. For me right now on the top of the list is getting a new side fairing. I maybe looking to get Circe custom painted[ a wee bit more aggressive green, maybe] so I might go for any color rather than an exact match,[ I would have to sand it down so...meh :P]
Hopefully I'll have her looking like a H2R's and a Ducati's love child by the time I am done. :P xD

Got myself a GoPro setup. Saw a go pro hero [the new one] for 80$ on amazon. Sure it was refurbished but hey, 80$ ,..hell yeah. Another 20$ for the mounts and I was able to recreate motonosity's gopro setup. The only thing I don't have is the the screws that he used but I'll get those in a bit. For now...that is one more thing off my list.

I had to look it up as I don't say that first R.

Oxford says:
Note that February is spelled with an r following the Feb-. Precise speakers insist that the r should be pronounced, but this is not easy, and most people replace the r following Feb- with a y sound: Feb-yoo- rather than Feb-roo-. This is now becoming the accepted standard.

Good posts, Thanks for sharing.

My wisdom I wish to share is the last thing my MSF instructor shared after our written test.

"Never ride faster than you have practiced emergency stopping from" - MSF instructor

Hope you have a chance this year to take the class, I really am glad I took it before getting out and riding. My first bike hasn't been down yet, and I think the class had a lot to do with it. They really do cover a ton of material in the 3 days it took.

I just pulled my baby out this weekend and got it going again (much needed chain replacement @ 13,000+ miles)for spring. I missed her so much!

Sounds like I either need to only drive city speeds or practice emergency stops on the highway... I don't think folks would be too amused an I might get squished

I'll probably see what I can do regarding the course. My financial situation still hasn't stabilised so let's see. I'll probably want to do a track day first but that's highly doubtful as well.

At this point it would probably be more beneficial to take the BRC2 or advanced rider course. Whatever they call it by you. Worth looking into. You take it on your own bike. Its cheaper about $100 here when the BRC was $300. But its only one day as you don't have to take the tests. A lot of good stuff in it still, just none of the realy basic stuff.

More or less, here is the situation with it. Over here there are 3 levels of a bike license. Correct me if I am wrong. :P
M1 - Temp, 3 months. At the end of which you can either take the M1 course and get tested for the M2 or give the test without the course which I've been told is harder.
M2 - If you have taken the M1 course the time duration between this and the full M becomes 18 months, you can't take the test or the course before that. If, however you didn't do the M1 Exit course you have to wait for 22 months. I believe this is valid for 5 years. I don't know if you can get it renewed.
M - Full M.
I got my M2 without going through the course which was about 500. 500 which I didn't have, so now I have to wait for a total of 22 months. I will most probably take the M2 exit course which I believe is for $250 something but it won't be possible before next year.
However Xtina shared something on the wall of the local 250 group that we are in(I got off facebook now, too much drama).
Toronto Motorsport Park offers two course which I am interested in.
1. Surviving the Streets - It's an advanced riding course
2. Intro To Track School

I initially wanted to do a racer5 track course but well...finances. However these two are fairly inexpensive. I am probably going to get some used track suit, I have the rest just the suit is missing.
Lets see how it goes.

wow... We got it easy here. That sounds way over complicated. We just have the permit and then the test for your "M" endorsement. Then you're good for life (or until you do something stupid and lose your licence).

Aside from the cost, I like the idea that other countries have. Limit new rider's to a range of bikes that can teach them the basics, then let the move up to either a mid range or unlimited after a certain amount of experience.

But on the other hand, if a moron wants to jump on the biggest baddest bike they can get a loan for the day they get their license, they should have that ability. Doesn't make it right or smart, but the opportunity is there.

Sadly, their stupidity affects my insurance rates.

M2 exit courses are around 400+. I just booked mine with RTI at their Toronto location for 350 on a loyalty program (did my M1 exit with them).

We don't have restrictions on what CC you can ride, when you start off. Our restrictions are pretty basic...

M1- No blood alc., no passengers, not allowed to ride at night
M2- No blood alc.
M- Low blood alc. but only if you're above a certain age (23, I think)

It's pretty laxed.

Yeah, I was mostly thinking places like Asia and UK.

There are upsides and downsides to everything. Aside from the cost, sounds like they are reasonable restrictions.

The one thing that can be considered as a deterrent of sorts is the the insurance quotes. If you're under 25 and have a sports bike chances are you'll be paying more than 200 a month. Specially if you are a new rider, it largely depends on where you live but mostly even if you have it under your parents and are as a second rider, you'll be paying upwards of a grand anyways.
I've had my M2 since Sept last year....maybe...bit hazy on the details. lol
When I transferred the bike unto my name because I wanted to be responsible for my bike rather having it under my fathers name I got quoted at 5100 a year for a 250. Once I turn 25, it drops to 2k a year and keep in mind that it is for a 250. I asked them just out of curiosity what would I be paying if I got myself a Supersport. There answer was they they can't even give me a quote unless I have 2 years on my M2 or have a full M. In either case it would be quite substantial.
For riders under 25, there are companies which won't even accept them. State Farm won't insure anyone under 25 and any other would give you high quotes, which to be honest is idiotic. A squid will be a squid regardless of the age. It's as I always say, turning 25 won't make a third wisdom testicle drop down and make you realize how stupid you've been.
Having said that, it can be a promoter of idiotic behaviour than a deterrent. I've seen so many idiots ride without an insurance.
"The police won't chase us."
Which they don't from what I've heard because they don't want a rider killing themselves.
"You pay the money if you have it rich man, I am not paying ****."
The arguments go on and on and on and on.

I think Learning curves had it for cheaper.

Yeah, by the time I'm fully licensed I'd have paid around 1000 dollars. But, it's all worth it.

What the? I started riding in May of 2013 as an M2 licensed rider. 2008 250, and I was only paying 85/month. Age 21. Your location affects your insurance rates greatly, Brampton is terrible for that sort of stuff. I live in Markham, but close to the border of Stouffville which is why my insurance is great. Also when I renewed (still M2 licensed) My insurance dropped by 10 bucks a month. Sounds to me like your insurance company is jerking you around. I've received quotes on big CC "sport" bikes (SV1000) and was quoted at 160/month. This was after 6 months of being a new rider.

Even for my Harley @ 22 years of age (now 23) I got quoted 170/month.

Hopefully it drops further once I get my M. Thankfully I'm getting it before I renew my policy this year.

Whhhaattt?????
Brampton is terrible for these things. The thing is that I don't have a G1, G2 or a G. I asked state farm and they won't insure me because of that. I'm looking around for other companies but the general quote I am getting is more or less along those lines.
FML

Nyhoo just got this
