Corbin Seat ordered

While in Daytona I visited Corbin Seats and ordered a black leather one for my Ninja. They said three to four weeks so I'm good with that. I sure wished I had it going home. After 2,550 miles in the saddle buzzing along at 70-72 mph I could've used the seat. The Alaskan Sheep Skin butt pad worked for a while but eventually those cushions sink and the plastic pan doesn't hold my weight and those sit bones get sore. I'll report on the seat when it arrives and also testing to see if it was worth the purchase. BTW I received a 10% discount because it was Biketoberfest!

I got my corbin a couple weeks ago. Super comfy and surprisingly heavier than the stock seat

Larry, I hope you don't get the one they use on the BMW (lawsuit states it promotes erections). I'm not sure if it's made of pussycat or bunny.

I'm very happy with mine, got it at the very last minute before my first long trip (800+ mile days) and it was worth the $300 or so I paid for it shipped used.

I would love to buy one, but its hard to swallow paying 1/4th the value of the bike on just on a seat (pre-gens).

Come to California and then it will only be 1/8th the value for the seat

I'm with you here (even though I have a new-gen). For $300 I am damn sure putting four legs on it, setting it in front of my computer, grabbing a Widmer and planting my flat white azz on it and watching 2 hours of fail videos.

I almost didn't get my Corbin due to the cost. Now I will never own a bike without one. Seriously one of the best comfort mods I've ever done.

Feels even better than it looks! I was going to get an all black one until I saw the dark blue leather in person.

If you guys can go in person, the diner at the Corbin factory is pretty good too. If anyone is in the area and wants to sit on mine, let me know!

Man, that really does look great, so does your bike in general (yellow power!). I think I am going to have to bite the bullet and buy one before my cross country trip. Could always resell it when I decide to upgrade to a 300cc

Thanks man! Trust me, you will not regret getting it. I felt pretty crappy after shelling out that much money, but was instantly sold on it on the ride home.

I know right, $300 for a ****ing seat, not a chair, not a sofa, not a couch, literally a butt seat.

But so worth it

The mythical F1 cobra exhausts. Almost as rare as the yoshimura 2-to-1 system for the ninja 250.

I got them on eBay. The brand is stompgrip. I had used some of their products for snowboarding before so I gave it a try again. Definitely worth the money. Allowed me to relax my legs a bit more.

Corbin seat update

The seat came in about 2 1/2 weks. Nice packaging. I bought the all leather and no seams. The installation required me to shim the seat latches down with #12 washers. I saw this report on the 250 Ninja Riders site and those are usually spot on reports and I had to do the same to mine. I test road the seat close to 250 miles last Sunday and found the seat to be as expected. Firm (I like) and comfortable. I have a Brooks leather seat on my touring bicycle and use Proofride to condition the leather. This is what I used on the Corbin. Surprisingly the leather and process Corbin uses doesnot require you to always cover the seat. I know in the old days you have to be carefull with the leather and especially the stitching, not allowing any water to puddle on the seat. In speaking with Mike Corbin I found you just have to use a good leather conditionewr that contains lanolin. We've had snow flurries lately so the Ninja is sleeping now but when I get her out I'll take so photos and post them. Wardie

Rare yes. Sh!tty loud, yes. Those are the F1R pipes. From my experience, the R version is loud as f**k.

Apparently the F1 version is perfect. The R is obnoxious. That's the only pregen system I've found that can make Two Brothers slip-on's seem quiet in comparison.

Corbin

Got the bike out for one of those rare mid winter days in Ohio whne it's almost 60 degrees for ONE DAY Corbin felt awesome. I'm starting to think about Daytona March 11th. My buddies will be riding their big boy Beemers and I will be on my 2 Fitty, unless I get the deal of a lifetime at the Cleveland Cycle World Show and buy a 300! Will have plenty of pics from Daytona in the coming months. Wardie

Make sure to clean the frame/chain/swingarm meticulously. If you don't, you'll get oxidation in about 3 weeks. Ask me how I know.

Last spring break, it was in the 50's so I got the ninjette out. There was still tons of salt on the roads. I thought I cleaned it well enough but apparently I didn't. It took lots of cleaning and scrubbing.
