Ninjette.org Chrome Extension
Introducing v1 of the Ninjette.org Chrome Extension.
This extension will allow you to follow or "subscribe" to ninjette.org members. Screenshot... If there is enough interest in this, I will develop it to pull "subscriptions" from your profile's fiends list. Let me know what you think or share any ideas you may have.

@Alex - When you do an advanced search for a specific userid & Find posts from "Your Last Visit". The resulting thread page is cached. For how long? I seen this while poking around.
I am using that resulting list to query for new posts. So at this point, Jason has posted 3 more times that do not show on that list.

I'm not sure, some of that is buried pretty deep. I know that there is a nocache flag you can use on the searches to prevent this behavior. I have it that way for the searches to find the unanswered threads, for example.
PHP Code:

Lol, so adding the nocache flag limits the searches to 1 every 5 seconds but looks like it does the job.

The only reason I don't use Chrome is because I can't use CTRL + I, CTRL + U, or CTRL + B to add the BBCode for italics, underline, and bold.
Seriously, Google: FIX IT! Even so, could you easily make this work for Anandtech forums? |

Is Anandtech forums vbulletin? If so, I would have to say this would most likely work there too.
Lemme get the bugs worked out for here first though. lol

So the final issue is the 5 second between searches rule.
So if you have multiple users your following, the extension pauses 6 seconds between calls to get their list of posts. While that is not a problem in itself, what happens when you search while the extension is updating? Yea.... you see the wait X seconds page. I have a few ideas but not really sure what to do about that right now.

Anyway Alex could get rid of that rule for the extension?

Not sure I would want Alex to do that. I would much rather use a per user RSS than do a search. I am looking into that now.

Okay, yeah that could be much better. I like that idea. Do you do coding for a living or is it a hobby?

I sling code for a living. Work at home, make above average, make my own schedule. It's pretty nice and I can't complain.

Very cool! I took a few programming classes back in the day. Sadly I was always more concerned with sleeping in school... man if we could go back in time, huh?
