How do you mount a GoPro on a helmet/bike?

I'm looking to buy a GoPro camera but I'm not sure how to mount it on my helmet or my bike? Is it possible to mount on the chin of the helmet so the camera doesn't mount on the top (looks weird)? Is it better to mount on the helmet or bike if I want to use it to defend myself in case of an accident that I'm not at fault (I hope I won't have to use it that way...)
What mounting accessories do I need to get?

note: I have a RF1100 helmet

Just drill through the helmet and bolt it up. Make sure you wear the helmet while drilling to get the perfect alignment.

on second thought don't do that (I forgot about the mentality of some members).

There are all kinds of mounts you can use.
I know you can use the flat mount or a curved mount for your helmet, or there are suction cup mounts.
Try looking on youtube for people's helmet cam setups.
All you have to search is Go Pro helmet cam setup or something along those lines.

Camera will come with a couple of flat and curved (i.e. 'helmet') stick-on mounts. They've got heavy-duty 3M adhesive stickers on the back so you just have to find a spot on the helmet that allows you to mount up the camera and point it forward/backward.

This is how I had the camera set up on my Scorpion EXO-400 when I hit the deer back in '09:

I've got a Speed and Strength lid now that had a blank spot where the 'S' emblem is on the Scorpion, so now I can mount the camera over the visor for a more centered view.

the camera comes with a couple mounts. If you want it for like court purposes then definitely put it on your helmet. A camera anywhere on your helmet will look weird but what do you care? you ride a motorcycle and they are jealous. I put my go pro straight on top of my helmet using a curved adhesive mount that came with it

This should be helpful. She even mounts it on the chin, like you're looking for
