Completely my fault, was on the back roads riding with a buddy going too fast on a straight when some huge bumps in the road that I didn't notice caused me to lose control. I had gear on so I ended up only messing up my shoulder and getting a few scrapes and bruises. Got very lucky. Happy birthday to me. =[

I'm not going to bother parting out the bike but I'd like to sell it as one piece to recoup some of the money I still owe on it, is anyone in the central CA area interested? If not, do you know how much I should ask for this on Craigslist?

I don't think any of the fairings are in good shape, bike still rolls straight. Frame is almost positively tweaked (the bike did some flips)

If anyone could give me an idea on value that would be great.

My helmet saved my life for sure. My shoulder is really messed up but X-rays say no broken bones. I got extremely lucky, as I was going way too fast and being a total idiot, so I can't complain about my injuries.

You could try selling it to the Parts Ninja.
http://oemninjaparts.com/

They have a profile here on the forum.
Local sale might be easier however. Go look at prices in your area for project track bikes. Try marketing it as a good fixer-upper for a track bike.

you are looking at a few 100 at best you may get more parting it out but it looks like almost every part hit.

Cody, Very sorry about your crash. I'm glad you weren't seriously injured and hope you heal up fast. As others have pointed out, your best option may be parting it out, particularly with frame damage.

Some dockers boots that stayed together pretty well, alpinestars gloves with the carbon fiber knuckles did a great job of protecting my hands and they are still in good shape.

I had AlpineStars mesh jacket (I think it's called Air?) over two sweatshirts. I wish I had had chest protectors in but I hadn't bought any yet. The jacket tore on the shoulder that I landed on but did a good job of protecting all my skin and I'm convinced that the built in padding is the reason I didn't absolutely shatter my shoulder/collar bone. It must have distributed the blow evenly, so my shoulder is extremely sore and swollen but two X-rays confirmed there are no breaks. I'm sure if I hadn't had that jacket on I would be much worse off. Unfortunately the medics had to cut it off of me as I couldn't bend my arm to take it off.

My helmet was kind of cheap, I had left my arai at a friends house and was using my backup, but it's DOT and just for scraped up, no cracks. That saved my life as well.

Also I was wearing jeans. Poor choice. They spent about a half hour pulling denim out of my ass.

jacket was $200 from Cycle Gear, gloves were $80. I'd say all in all Alpine Stars makes some good gear. My buddy went the Sedici route and he's on his second pair of gloves that are falling apart from very light use.

Reinforced jeans work well, I believe that Rhok and Icon have great riding jeans at reasonable prices. There's also the option of overpants (I'd go with textile > leather for the waterproof aspect) While I'm all for one piece suits on joy rides/track days and the like they are definitely not meant for commuting.

Glad to hear that the A* held up, do you intend to continue riding since you're pawning off your bike?

I dropped my bike a couple weeks ago because of slippery garage conditions. I was furious but it happens to everyone whether it's a big crash or a small drop. Motorcycles look better with dirt rubbed in them anyways.

Are you thinking about buying another bike?

Hi Cody, we definitely would be interested in purchasing your bike, IF you happened to be closer to us. Shipping from CA to LA would be $600 or so, which would raise the price too much for us. I would however recommend listing the bike on Craigslist at $1600 and taking any offer over $1350. I am postive you can get this. Make sure to mention that this would make a good track bike. Im sure you will not have much difficulty selling this quickly, especially in San Jose. Get well soon.

Wow, I haven't been on here in a few weeks and I come back to see this. I hope everything heals up soon. I've never seen a bike so damaged in a crash. Did a semi smash into it or something afterward?!?! Good luck on getting some money out of it though! I hope everything turns out well.
