Crashed :(

hey guys, i know it's been quite a long time since I posted.. but hmm I just gone down this morning

I'm perfectly healthy that's the most important of course but the ninjette .. ugh.. quite a disaster

I was driving in a main road at bout 90km/h as there was just a speeding camera before luckily... and and there was this truck (furniture truck) huge as fk.. -.- which was on a stop sign. I didn't bother reducing as it didn't seem to go out ans saw me .. all of a sudden he drives and I was heading right in middle.. while I was breaking the ninjette's rear tire kinda was playing and uhmm managed to skid at the back of the truck .. the ninjette hit the truck head on on the rear bumper and i flew on the road, woke up right away.. such a horrible thing to see the ninjette in that situation .. nothing happend to me as I had my gear on as always, just a bit bruised shoulder but no biggie.

Parts to be replaced are ...
  • Fearings, front both sides
  • Front fearing
  • Front mudguard
  • Mirrors
  • 1 indicator
  • radiator
  • Silencer got scrateeched and a part of rear fearing as well
  • frame sliders scratched
  • and the tank .. has the shape of my balls at the back .. lol

Picture of the ninja down

Glad you are ok.

What can you learn from this experience and use to improve your riding skills?

I see a few possible things:
  1. Not reducing speed approaching an intersection.
  2. Assuming the driver of the truck would stay stopped.
  3. Possible overuse of rear brake.
Again, glad you are ok and for being ATGATT

Jeff

Thank you all hmm regarding the assumptions, you are absolutely right Jeff, but ughh the assumption was kinda obvious as they were stopped and all of a sudden they went out =/ guess i'll have to drive slower ..when I get the bike back.

However I am going nuts in the morning traffic with the car !! I was thinking about getting a Yamaha XT 250, any of you guys have had any ? it's a bit old not sure about the details I will go to view it this week but it's quite cheap bout 900 Euros && I would use it when it's raining instead of the ninja

Sucks to hear about another rider crashing; glad you're smart and wear your gear though... And made it out okay.

Side note:

To update you guys a bit, the survey hasn't been done yet as my mechanic is still abroad but will be done on Friday.

Good news is that his insurance company opened the claim with no problems at all.

Bad news .. I'm going nuts without the ninja !! I miss riding so much .. my buddy just got the 300 and I can't go ride with him

Still without the bike, meanwile I have bought a Hyosung RX 125, got some modifications done, replaced the mask with the KTM Duke's looks pretty wicked, removed all stickers, all black :P I'll post some pictures later on.

The ninja parts have arrived still waiting on the mushrooms/frame sliders to arrive..
I should be rollin with my sexy beast again next week !! After months :l

Dunno if it helps, but I stare at two things when I am on the street: front tires and heads. If the head doesn't turn, they don't see me. If I want to see the car's speed or if they're going to change lanes -- front tires.

Am I misunderstanding or was the a x-shaped intersection with him going down one road and you the other, you thought he stopped and saw you, then he didn't and went into you? If so -- did you do the motorcycle SMIDSY prevention dance?
