Cool Shin's 250r Build Thread

Hello Ninjette,

I am a newbie around here. New to riding as well as owning and maintaining a bike. A little background story on how I came on to the bike and what I have been doing or will progress to do.

I picked a 2004 ninja 250r for 420$. It was quite a steal and from a friend that was just fed up with having it in his driveway. The kicker was that it was pretty disassembled and required some tender love and care. I picked her up and took her home to start what I considered to be a daunting project.

The bike was pretty much frame, not only did I not know how to put something I did not take apart together but I had to also get it to work. After hours over many days of research and videos I finally cleaned out the carburetors, cut the old battery box, made a new one since the battery I had available was not the correct size, install a K&N air filter, change the oil and filter, & clean most of the old gunk and build up from the bike.

After slapping everything back together I finally got it to start. now the rest of the project is going to be cosmetic appeal as well as tuning the bike to run like factory. Any help you guys would like to throw my way I will take the time to read over and consider.

Below I have provided an imgur link with current photos.

wouldnt a metal battery box drain the battery or have a good chance to ground it out?
