Well I got all the fairings on. It took some dremel work and enlarging of the original holes I drilled. The body fairing, front fender and tail mounted up no problem however the belly pan is another story. Some of the belly pan mount points were off so 5/6 bolts are secured. I could not get the bolt near the kickstand near the mount point.
Here are some pics. Before: After: The body fairings and the black oem plastics dont really fit well together. Here is the tail section. I drilled some holes in the sides near the seat so I can take seat on and off without taking off the tail. |

Here is the belly pan. There are some gaps but the belly pan is secure.
Here is the bolt I could not get mounted near the kick stand. I think I need to remove the kickstand. |

Welcome n00b *wink wink* It's good to see you on this site. Much more mature than the other one.
PS - your race fairings have a similar sized fairing gap compared to my OEM

I bought that same fairing kit, can't beat the price but agree that the fit is not great.

I definitely like this site alot. It is great for track/racing info. On the other site I am tired of the same "what clip ons" "can i put a 160 tire on" "what exhaust" "how should i mod my bike" questions over and over lol.

I must admit I have not replaced the tail section yet, because the stock one is doing fine for now. I'm still working on the belly pan, actually procrastinating a bit because of the poor line up. So currently running with just the upper on, will get to the lower one of these days. |

you need to get the ecu back to stock (no power commander) and swap the caliper to stock as well as the master cylinder to stock and you're good to go

Man..... I would love to race in that event but I dont have yet to complete the TPM ART-RACE school or another approved race school. My goal is to complete that race school with TPM or Motorcycle Xcitement. I have never ridden with TPM so I was interested in joining them this weekend.

Has anyone removed the cowling around the dash area? If so where did you relocate/mount the dash?

Anytime.
I don't recall the fairing stay being much different for the 300 but you may have noticed mine is a 250. It took a whopping 3 minutes to do and 2 minutes was finding the right size bolt. |

Last night I stay up way later than I should have but I had to fix my belly pan mounting issues before my track day tomorrow. The bottom two bolt holes of the belly pan did not line up with the mounting points on the bike so I had to make my own mounting brackets and drill new holes in the belly pan. I bent mending plates into the shape that would allow me to mount the belly pan to the bike. The last thing I need to do is cut a slot in the belly pan so I can use my kickstand.
Here are the mending plates I used. I purchased them from Home Depot. They come in various sizes. Rear Brake Side Clutch Side |

Here is the finished product. I thought it was going to be a pain to get the number plate on the windscreen since it is not flat but a little heat and a credit card did the trick. However, there is no way I am getting the rear number plate on, oh well. Last thing I need to do is paint the fairings after tomorrows track day.

August 16 Track Day
Weather: Sunny with a high of 97 degrees Organization: Motorcycle Xcitement Track: NCCAR/NCBIKE - Garysburg, North Carolina This track day is my 5th of the season and I am trying to stay on schedule to do one trackday every month this season until my local track organization stops running in Oct. However, all these track days are getting expensive and my bank is screaming bloody murder. Compared to the last time I was at NCBike in June my pace definitely increased. I chose better lines, played around with trail braking, made sure to practice my body positioning, and made an effort to be consistent with my braking point down the straight. It was an exhausting, hot and rewarding day. Things things I need to work on: 1) I need to scoot back more and when hanging off get that left/right corner of the seat in my crack. 2) I need to make my left to right and right to left transitions on the seat smoother without upsetting the bike. 3) I need to pick my damn toes up. I have the balls of my feet on the end of the pegs but I still sometimes scrape the bottom of my boot and get spooked. 4) Tighten up some of the lines I was going wide on. 5) Lower my upper body while riding 6) Relax my arms more on the bars by holding my self up with my legs/core. I had some videos to share but Youtube is taking a while to upload. I will share them at a later time. Last futzed with by howlinhoss; August 23rd, 2015 at 04:40 AM. |

Here are the videos as promised. Please feel free to give me some feedback on things I can improve!
1) This was taken during my first evaluation. We were held up at the beginning so the action starts at around 5:30.
