Rear seat cowl installed: 2012 250R SE

Nice addition! Also put a fine quality self-adhesive chronograph from Wally Mart on the triple clamp.

It looks good, how do you like it and was it the 99 dollar ones on Amazon?

Thanks! It's a Kawasaki genuine accessory that I ordered through a dealer.

Claimed to boost top speed by about 10 mph.

I wish we had a more flush-sitting cover available.. I have the OEM version as well, and while it does look nice, it would look a LOT nicer if it sat flush..

I also noticed that at speed, if I keep a microfiber cloth in that area, it WILL get sucked out through the gapping.. I've lost two of those suckers that way.. Hahahah..

Has anybody tried using the plastic base from a regular rear seat and attaching it to a seat cowl somehow, like maybe epoxy them together? Or maybe use some kind of bolts that could have a decorative upper part sticking out of the top of the cowl, like the spiked windshield bolts I've seen. That would guarantee that nobody would ever sit on it.

It would be more secure, you could make the fit as flush as you want it, and stuff wouldn't get sucked out through the gap.

The only issue I have is the back grommet always falling out and getting lost. I am modifying mine now to use the same why the rear seat cowl works, slides under the bar. There is a thread or how to about fixing the gap in the front, the issue is the center lock bar in the front is to long so when clips into the key lock it holds the rest higher.
