I didn't know until recently but there is a little fountain show I believe one song every 30min at the San Pedro side of the bridge and it's quite nice especially at night. I go there after riding in Palos Verdes Peninsula(PV Drive South and East) which is not nearly as technical as your neighborhood(GMR) but the scenery is fantastic!

It was a sunny 48° today, so I went on an afternoon ride. This bridge looks similar to the one I posted at the beginning of the thread, but this one was concrete covered with gravel instead of wood. This was just west of Falkville, AL.

This looks like where the people of Falkville go swimming in the summer.

Before today I had never seen a Gas station/hardware store/video rental store before, I also never seen a carpet and flooring/video rental/ tanning salon store before as well. Gotta love backwoods Alabama.

Also before anyone says anything, I know my phone camera sucks, I know my bikes is very very dirty, and I know my tag is expired.

I found some covered bridges today. I went to 2 out of 3 that I was planning on seeing today, but I dropped my bike and it had to be trailered home, so I missed one. The one I missed was the longest covered bridge in the state, as well as one of the longest in the country. Oh well there is always another day.

This is the Easley covered bridge.

This is the Hortons Mill covered bridge, the highest covered bridge above any US waterway. I would have gotten more pictures of it but, I dropped my bike trying to turn around, and I was pissed that I could not ride it home because it was leaking oil all over the place after the brake petal when through the oil sight glass.

Sucks I could not ride through the bridges, but do to the county neglecting them, they were closed in 2007, although wikipedia says that the Hortons Mill bridge was reopened in late 2009, which if that was true I could have rode my bike home today. I just home the county decides to restore these old bridges because there are not many left in Alabama.

Here are the wikipedia articles for the 3 bridges I wanted to see today.

Went riding Sunday enjoying the weather and decided to travel a road I'd not taken (SR620 in Catawba, VA). Turned up a couple interesting bridges, some great scenery, a section of Jefferson National Park I've been hearing about but never visited, a bunch of gravelly downhill asphalt and a LOT more dirt/gravel road than I'd planned on.

I thought about it... briefly
DSC04966.jpg
DSC04968.jpg

Believe it or not, there was a bridge here. Or rather there is (it's off to the right, I forgot to get a shot) but it's listed as "Private" and has a locked gate on it. So... I did my first river crossing on the ninjette. Turns out there's a bunch of ~2-4" rocks down in that water that made things interesting.
DSC04969.jpg

And a slight departure from the thread topic:
Here's Caldwell Fields, giving me a very much needed rest stop on about 18 miles of rough gravel road. Saw several groups of students on the roadside doing cleanup which made a great day even better.

Found a few more, not terribly remarkable, but still enjoyed 'em. Not sure the first actually counts as a bridge though...

Sorry about the crappy pic. I snagged this from a video I took. I was just editing it and remembered this thread. I couldn't resist posting it.

An oddly placed one lane bridge in Bowie, MD. The surrounding area gets flooded whenever there is a heavy rain. Fantastic twisties afterwards though!

Tyke should remember this one...

Oh, and she's blue now (just waiting to install my trunk).

That's how we got our state fish eventually.

The tunnel doesn't look so big until you see the bike. Where is this Méké? I would love to put this on the list of places to go. What months does the ferry to Baie Comeau run?

Close to Franquelin ( says as olds mens say " Franklin " )

Upstream with two beautiful birds on wire . ( " hirondelles " in french , l don't know the word in English )

BR...

I've made the run through there every summer for the past 20 years (by car). It's six hours to the ferry at Matane, via Bathurst and the Matepedia Valley. Then about an hour and a half across to Baie Comeu or Godbout, depending on which place the ferry is going. Good roads and nice scenery on both sides of the St. Lawrence.
