Speedo needle going crazy

Hi all... all of a sudden I have a problem with the speedo needle, basically upon turning off the needle is stuck on 20km/h even though I am at a standstill, while moving also it is not giving the correct readings, riding at approx 10km would give me 20km while sometimes it gets stuck on 40km.

I tried to remove the cable and plug it again with no success. The funny thing is that when I knock gently on the glass it goes back to 0km.

Do you know what could be the problem and how I can solve it?

The cable has 2 ends. When you say you unplugged it and replugged, is it safe to assume you did both ends? I mean, the end on the front wheel is real easy to get to ya know.

The needle may be hitting the dial.
Use a magnifier to concentrate Sun light on several spots of the needle in order to straighten it out with the heat.

I don't think so, I think it's more related to the pin needle stuck because of internal mechanism, no one ever encountered this?

There is no internal mechanism, just a magnetic clutch a spring for returning to zero.
The cable makes the magnet of the clutch spin, which drags the needle via the clutch.
